Caroline Kennedy on JFK and RFK

During the Ted Kennedy memorial service just now, Caroline said her father and brother 'died for peace and justice'...I found that loaded with inferences I don't agree with.......Do you find that true?

Elbro...i didn't see that! I did see the gospel group.........not the best, I was sad to see..frankly.

FreeThinker.....thanks for the restraint! :-)
Isn't it ODD "peace and justice"?

Priscilla tells us that Obama wants 9/11 to be a Day of National Service now........I commented on another of my posts here that it seemed like that could only mean one of two things:
He wants us to forget what 9/11 REALLY IS (the cold blooded murder by islamists of 3000 innocent Ameircans)
OR
"Service", meaning IF WE HAD DONE BETTER SERVICE TO THIRD WORLD MURDERING COUNTRIES they'd have never DONE THIS TO US.

somehow, this seemed to fit the PEACE AND JUSTICE thing from tonight...I think, anyway.

Did anybody see the big video..."KENNEDY WANTS HEALTHCARE...IT's a RIGHT!"
I'd say that was shameless pandering but I guess it WAS something Ted wanted so, he'd not have minded that they used this service for another obama public service ad..free, this time. grrrrr
BOy, do I sound cynical or WHAT?

well it's not a constituitional right...perhaps a moral right...but then again as Dennis Prager says being kind to one another is a moral right too

the Rss gave us the slide...
I knew that when the Dark Side (Lucifer's kids) had the majority-- their true colors would show---fascist - communism is their trade..

I don't know what it is the Americans have with some of the "dynasties", foremost the Kennedy dynasty. Might as well declare Al Capone a dynasty too. Lawbreakers seem to have more positive recognition than good, law abiding people.

The Kennedy clan was built on smuggling and many other illegal activities, and the subsequent ruthless use of money and power (yes they are linked) in an environment susceptible to hail both (yes, it were liberal governments during whose regimes the clan thrived). The whole clan consists of socialist morons, and the country was lucky to get not more of them in power. And I don't want to describe what I think about JFK, who has brought forward two memorable sentences in his whole Presidency.

Ted Kennedy might have personally a nice guy to hang around with - I cannot judge that. But in his public life he was an utter failure which started with his famous car accident causing the death of a nice young girl. He has never recovered from that. Subsequently, he had, in good Kennedy tradition, to show his "heart" to the most left wing fringe of Congress. Bravo. May God give him peace and forgive him for what he did.

I've been staying away from the TV to avoid the Ted Kennedy memorial service. I've never cared for any of the Kennedy's.

I didn't see what Caroline Kennedy had to say about her uncle Edward Kennedy. I hope she didn't say you know more than 150 times.

Her father JFK wouldn't be considered what would be called "progressive" today, IMO. Outwardly he spoke against communism so he may even make the cut of today's President in terms of being an enemy.

Does anybody think that RFK became more leftist in his political projections after JFK was assassinated? I even wonder if that could have happened to Teddy, and I've read somewhere that while he was attending a parade somewhere someone set off some firecrackers near him, causing him to change color and almost die of a heart attack. Obviously he didn't want what happened to his older brothers to happen to him, as well, so he'd likely be an easy politician to control — just an opinion — and probably enough to get be banned from a conservative blog ...

Waylon, we can't blame Kennedy too much for hearing a shot and freaking out..the leftards this wknd were talking about how much fear he had of being the next dead Kennedy. Maybe THAT's one reason he adored being out on his boat.

I was just listening to patter over the funeral pictures before it started and one mentioned how touching it was that Kennedy had got on his boat for days and days after the RFK killing, coming back with a big beard.... they said how contemplative those weeks alone must have been...I bought it at the time, but now I'm wondering if he wasn't told GET OUT OF TOWN by his family, or his own instincts of sheer FEAR? who knows. We'll never hear the truth from this bunch. And, really, that's none of my business.

Since I'm not from here, I really don't know about Kennedy much. Haven't seen him through the years with my own eyes.

All I know is that I'm sick and tired of the left saying they have the monopoly of justice and peace. This is pure rubbish. They have forgotten to look at history again and see what their intellectuals have done to the world in name of social justice and equality.

But most of you are already convinced. I just needed to vent.

I didn't watch the service last night. What is she talking about?

Her father died because:
1) a CIA plot because he screwed them on the Bay of Pigs,
or
2) a Castro plot because he tried to screw him on the Bay of Pigs,
or
3) an LBJ plot to take him out when investigations were getting too close to Lyndon's shenanigans,
or
4) a lone communist assassin,
or
5) your favorite theory
Well, maybe the first two could be called "justice" if you stretch it. Peace -- no way.

Her brother died because the plane he piloted (in the dark when he was not well trained to fly) crashed. Liked the brother. Read his magazine. But he didn't give his life for peace and justice EITHER.

Noooooo way. I interpret the comment as trying to bridge the Kennedy "mystique" to Obama, who Chris Matthews has coronated as the "fourth brother."

Deborah, you're so right.
No PEACE and JUSTICE is even closely related to either of their DEATHS.
They did not die at war, as our soldiers do, REALLY dying for peace and justice.
And, excellent point; it's all about those lovely euphemisms the Left loves and the media waxes eloquent over afterwards.

While I can totally understand how leftwingers like Chris Matthews are in mourning, the extent of the whitewash is stifling.
Obviously, it's not necessary to bring Kopechne up within days of Kennedy's death; let the family grieve, let those in this country who actually admired him lick their wounds and celebrate him as they will..

I wonder how much of that horrid womanizing and partying he's apparently done in his life (his own biographer corrected one of FOX's interviewers when the interviewer talked about it because the writer said it was SO MUCH WORSE than FOX was portraying it) ..anyway, I wonder how much of that wasn't sheer guilt by a Catholic man who knew what he'd done. For his sake, I'm hoping I'm wrong, I honestly wouldn't wish that on ANYONE.

He may have done all this leftwing 'put America second because it needs to become a third world country so EVERYBODY's HAPPY!' stuff out of guilt, too..help him assuage guilt by making it up to the masses.

I must say that man suffered with the deaths of family and health problems, but he SURE did live a life of never having to worry about how he was going to pay his insurance premium or send a kid to college........very lovely life, I must say.....the family gave him such cache, the world forgave the murder, he got to meet the greats around the world......NOT BAD.

And I must say I admire greatly Vicki Kennedy, who really showed great dignity and sweetness in her immense and obvious grief at the Memorial Service and the funeral. I don't agree with her politics but I sure do think she showed a LOT of class.

You know, given the notorious reputation the Kennedy men had for womanizing during their lives... Obama could well be "the other brother". Maybe a DNA test is in order!

I don't get the "justice and peace" thing either z. And I'm always amazed at the hypocrisy of it all. I have to wonder how much 'justice', the woman raped on the Kennedy compound by Wm. Kennedy Smith, received? How much 'peace' was achieved by the Bay of Pigs and sending in advisers to aid South Viet Nam instead of trying diplomatic solutions first, truly was? How was the mob connections to the Kennedys, Peaceful????
