A Comment worth sharing as a post......by Pris

My good friend and contributor Pris commented Monday morning to Ducky, our leftWINGer commenter. I say this only to make sure those of you who don't know Ducky will see why Pris has addressed him....This isn't about Ducky, it's simply a very good response to everyone who feels as he does, but the comments which inspired Pris are HERE. This is from Priscilla:

Here's how it worked on the medicareRX program, Ducky. Mr. Pris and I opposed that new spending program, and did not want to accept the medicareRX. We have a supplemental insurance policy as part of his retirement package, and we pay a little over half the cost of that supplement, the company pays the balance. Mr. Pris's former employer informed us we had to accept medicareRX or our supplemental insurance policy would be canceled. Period. See, Ducky? Short and sweet. Use it or lose it! Now, if you think if government healthcare goes into effect, that companies all over the country won't cancel their insurance coverage for employees and leave millions with no other option but government healthcare, you're either a dreamer, or downright stupid. Tort reform would be a good start in cutting costs. Funny, the administration has nixed that out of hand. In fact, cutting bureaucracy, not adding to it, would cut costs too. How you can consider a 1000 page bill full of layers of bureaucracy, a way to contain costs, is the insanity Ducky, not citizens who know they're being taken for a ride, big time! The biggest cost of all? Freedom of choice, autonomy of free citizens. I thought you lefties believed in freedom of choice, no? I guess that only applies to killing babies.

I thought Pris made a lot of sense and more people needed to read her comment than probably did.
My friend Mike in Indiana said something pretty clever over the phone Sunday: Leftwingers used to want to take care of us "From Cradle to Grave", now they want to take care of us "From Abortion to Euthanasia" Good one, eh?

You think Pris is right? I sure do. (Thanks, Priscilla..as always, you hit it out of the park)

A very good comment, indeed.

Bloody well said Pris. And to your friend Mike.

Didn't read the original thread, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that what Pris said, bounced right off quacky's thick skull.

Hey Z, what do you think of my new "Jess-ism" (see my latest blog post? I hope you like it.

Always On Watch said...

Interesting that nobody seems to be calling BHO on this broken promise as to how he was going to negotiate health-care reform.

Z said...

From Jess:"Dissent is the highest form of patriotism except when it emanates from anyone other than a Democrat. Then it is known as a fear mongering, right wing angry mob."

So true...good one, Jess.

FJ, MK...thanks. Pris is good, isn't she!

Always....OH, yes, Obama was all about TRANSPARENCY when he RAN......and, of course, all he'd have to DO is explain, point by point, and stop with the "You can keep your private insurance" type of lines which are SO untrue.

Linda Douglass should be ashamed of herself. SHE knows that HE DID SAY THAT about private policies (Yup, he SURE DID)...but that it's entirely WRONG. For her to keep pointing to "He did say that!" and not including the obvious truth has no integrity AND is exactly what is making Town Halls attendees so angry.

WHY can't the Left see that? Of course, they probably KNOW those Americans are right in demanding details and that they're NOT rowdy UNTIL people start obfuscating, but they can't respond carefully and deliberately to those challengers; it honestly looks to me as if some of those politicians simply haven't a clue...others look a bit sick that the crowds get it but they can't say "Yes, you're right, but we're told to tell you THIS!"

Pris and Mike are both right. Thanks for sharing their thoughts, Z.

Pris is precisely correct.

Pris is correct as is Mike in Indiana!

Again, I keep saying this, but France is encouraging its citizens to complement the gov coverage with private insurances called "mutuelles".

My mom is retired, pays 500 dollars a month in gov insurance and has 2 complementary "mutuelles."

And it's only because the French gov is creating so much waste with 60 million people. Can you imagine with 350 or 400.

Oh by the way, the French system is not a pure single payer since there are co-pays too for minor things.

So those left wingers are either idealistic, are bad in math, can't look around the world or want us to live in misery.

Did you see that France ranks below Albania in the index of economic freedom?

That's what those programs lead to.

Count on Ducky to ignore the obvious and continue pronouncing the "leftista spin". Pris made an outstanding point and I fully agree.

FB, I don't want to 'log in' at that site. Odd that you can't click on other posters and see their blogs, if they HAVE them, or maybe most don't, I think one did have that linkage available.

I wanted to compliment commenter KRYS because he/she got it exactly right and had the guts to say it. Of course, nobody responded!

YOU are doing a great job there. I wish more people could see your arguments.

Z said...

FrogBurger, come to think of it, maybe I will....later. This is a busy day for me but I might not be able to resist.
Looks like one can argue there and it staysabove name calling, which is a good thing.

G-Man said...

Did anyone see the Spector town hall this morning? I have to say, even though he is a traitorous piece of offal, he handled that one with relative class compared to the others in his new-found "party".

FrogBurger said...

I watched it. At least the guy has courage and he redeemed himself. I thought his answers were not very specific but that's a politician for you.

Z said...

Gman and FB...was the crowd at ALL curious and challenging or full of plants like the WH promised?

If they challenged, did they buy Specter's unspecificity??

FrogBurger said...

People had numbers like at the butcher shop in France :) It was fairly courteous and polite. His answers were not specific at all.

And old man got upset at the end b/c he didn't have a ticket. His speech was full of emotion, almost tearful and it broke my heart. My wife cried when she saw him.

People are fed up.

Z said...

So, Specter's lack of complete and detailed answers didn't make the crowd back down from their legitimate concerns but they did do less demanding finger-pointing type of stuff, or?

FrogBurger said...

The crowd was quiet but I don't think they were reassured.

Specter's body language and eyes were interesting to observe. I think he knows people are angry, I think he may agree with them on some points but he may feel stuck now that he joined the camp of the wacked radical left.

Speaking of Ducky, where is he in this string? Hmmm?

Pris hit the proverbial nail on the proverbial head.

FrogBurger said...

Ducky's been thinking of a witty joke of his. He can't find valid arguments, just sarcastic jokes.
Don't worry it's coming

defiant_infidel said...

Premium stuff, as has always been the standard when Pris uses her keyboard. .. and delightfully free (thus far) of ignorant, empty retorting "quacks".

When this whole mess devolves into the utterly sure, total economic collapse (the only possible destination and outcome of this rampant lunacy), I think the only solace and entertainment value remaining will be watching the vacuous morons, who eagerly helped hand us this debacle, suffer woefully right along with the rest of us. But its a supremely high price to pay for what will be such a long enduring disaster.

This will not be fixed in a weekend...

Ducky's here said...

What does it mean to say that you are satisfied with your health insurance? Until you have a serious illness, the kind where your plan's limits and exclusions may kick in, how do you know if your health coverage is any good?

People who choose to be tribal clones over their own self-interest or are so deeply uninformed that they should probably not be allowed to drive cars are plentiful in this country so I don't think they've thought this entirely through. But they should. Plainly, those who have insurance are on thin ice too, every last one of them.

Ducky's here said...

Of course many companies are just cancelling it period, with or without any government option.

RightKlik said...

Most people act in their self-interest. Members of Congress are no exception.

ObamaCare is unpopular with American voters, and is becoming increasingly unpopular. So this begs the question: why is Congress pushing an unpopular plan so hard?

One potential answer is that they genuinely believe that a government body populated by benevolent bureaucratic attorneys can run health care more efficiently, and effectively than the highly trained and experienced doctors, nurses and CEOs who are currently running the system. I suspect that only the most narcisstic and arrogant pols in Washington hold this belief...people like Obama, Specter and Pelosi, for example.

So what about the members of Congress who aren't completely consumed with self-love and arrogance...what do they get out of this risky and unpopular attempt to push a hostile government takeover of the health care industry?

One word: power.

Is there a better explanation? I'd love to hear it.

Don't forget about Occam's razor

FrogBurger said...

Ducky we're not saying there are no problems. You don't get it.

But I doubt the gov will do better.

Look around: Canada, UK, France asking citizens to complement.

Look at their economy statistics as well.

Your talking points are not specific, are based on generalities and the conclusions drawn are shallow, lazy and only recommend feel good short term solutions.

I was reading a PowerPoint from Kaiser Permanente. Interesting stats was the fact that more people under medicare didn't get the care they needed in 2004 than the ones using private insurance.

Come on, you're so smart, you can do better.

G-Man said...

"Of course many companies are just cancelling it period, with or without any government option."

Really? Like which ones? Got any statistics to back up your claims or are you just posting what you imagine is happening?

FrogBurger said...

The worst of the plan is no cost-sharing for preventive medicine.
Everybody will go to the doc for booboos.

I'd rather have no insurance for booboos and that will reduce cost, like in the old days when you would go to the doc and pay cash.

And then have specific private insurance for big disease and surgeries, possibly with the help of the gov for the ones that cannot have it.

Then open the insurance market to the whole country.

The bill also contains nothing regarding lawsuits against doctors.

But that makes sense. Gotta protect lawyers like Edwards who are responsible for increasing healthcare costs.

FrogBurger said...

G-Man, Ducky doesn't like numbers. They would prove him wrong, unless you use one without breaking it down and relating it to other numbers.

Like 47 millions are uninsured. Therefore let's change the whole thing.

Z said...

Ducky...you say "Of course many companies are just cancelling it period, with or without any government option."

G-Man's right: evidence?

Thank GOODNESS for our insurance these days. It's none of your business, but trust me, we are USING IT.

And FB's right...we have OUR DOCTOR, OUR PLAN and OUR HOSPITAL and the government's not advising, pulling plugs, or otherwise getting in the way. That's exactly how most good Americans WANT IT, Ducky.

And, by the way; Why do you INSIST on suggesting none of us thinks healthcare may need to be revisited? You completely ignore that in every argument.

THINGS COULD BE DONE BETTER, DUCKY....let's fix those things. LEAVE OUR INSURANCE ALONE.

Leftist ,another word for the wicked and godless who hate God and life lived free.
Control freaks who want to replace God with their narcissistic selves.
This is why they hate our Judeo-Christian roots and go out of their way to embrace the cult of death,Islam as we see in the rotting corpse Great Britan.
The godless left are too proud to admit they are not God.

Our only hope with this curse on the earth is God's promise below.

Your hand will find all Your enemies;
Your right hand will find those who hate You.
You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger;
The LORD shall swallow them up in His wrath,
And the fire shall devour them.
Their offspring You shall destroy from the earth,
And their descendants from among the sons of men. For they intended evil against You;
They devised a plot which they are not able to perform.
12 Therefore You will make them turn their back;
You will make ready Your arrows on Your string toward their faces.

13 Be exalted, O LORD, in Your own strength!
We will sing and praise Your power.

I am. I have Anthem Healthkeepers as primary and Tricare (retired navy) as secondary. I don't worry about copays. My wife had a recent overnight visit in a hospital. $400 out of pocket. That is chump change to me.

So, therefore, I AM happy. I want to keep my current healthcare plan, and if you think I will be willing to pay extra taxes for lunkheads like you who think the feds owe them, you got another thing coming, buddy. I hate to sound selfish, but dammit, I worked to get where I am today and the LAST thing I want is for me to pay health care coverage for some lazy assed libtard who is afraid to work.

Private insurance is poorly run and not always effective.

Government run it will be inexaggerably worse. Government corruption and monopolies are always far worse than private sector corruption and monopolies.

I am an African American woman with naturally kinky/coarse hair. I decided to stop using relaxers over a year ago, furthermore straightening my hair became a difficult task. I could never seem to get the

results I was looking for out of a flat iron without going to a professional hair salon and spending $65.00 a visit.

Anonymous said...

I never thought it could be possible. I own about 7-9 hair straighteners from cheap to deluxe. Not one of them could

penetrate my thick, curly hair enough to do anything other than heat up the cuticle and make sizzling noises. This iron is going to change my life. I spent 700 on ionic straightening, and this iron works

better!!!! If you spend any amount of time wielding a heavy blow dryer, forget about it. I used this iron on Air-dried, curly hair. I wish I could upload a digital photo- I look like a hair commercial.

Unbelievable but true!!! I LOVE IT!!!
