From Russia, With Love?

I hope you'll read this (if you did see it the first time around...I had, and a friend had, and we agreed that it seems even MORE true and prescient today than it did only two months ago....take a look):

It takes Pravda to tell America the truth about America. The only thing devastating about it is I don't see our way out of it. Here's the first part:

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

Please KEEP READING....HERE. The end is more gruesome than the above.....believe me. What are your thoughts? Can we CHANGE THINGS AROUND FOR THE BETTER AGAIN?

When I first read that article I was amazed that the former official voice of the USSR would point to the failures of socialism in Russia. Instead of lauding somebody like Obama with his leftist leanings they point to the road taken to bring America and the West to its present state of crisis facing the imposition of a statist tyranny.

The article clearly points out that it was American financial backing prior to the 1917 October Revolution that allowed the Bolsheviks to ascend to power. The article even hints that those who were responsible should be made accountable — even if they are all now dead. The institutions they created live on and their original plan moves steadily forward with those who have followed the originators in the system they sought to impose on the world.

Even Putin as portrayed in this article condemns the descent of America into its current state — where I'd have thought he'd show some sort of approval. Maybe it was what he saw in GWB's eyes a few years ago that shocked him to the truth and reality that both political parties have contributed to this problem.

I especially like the idea in the article about Americans today willing to call 911 if they have a problem with their order of McNuggets but they remain silent as their rights and Constitution are undermined steadily over time.

Oh crap. What a way to start my day! ;-)

I'm with Joe on this. I just don't believe Obama will win a second term. He will cause such damage in his four years that Americans will demand a moderate (I know, Ducky) in office.

Ducky's here said...

This is months old.

Oh, and it comes from a blog, not the newspaper Pravda. Different sites.

Pat, apparently there are better Russian thinkers than some here in America, huh?

Joe, I'm not so sure, I used to be; I think our kids are lost and, when that happens, there's no 'safety net' to rely on. I hope I'm wrong.

Waylon, pretty interesting stuff, isn't it....makes you wonder.

Jen, I think Obama's first six months have been so bad that I can't imagine what another six months like this might do to him....

Ducky, read the post....everyone here knows this isn't new. Who cares if it's the Russian newspaper Pravda? Did that page LOOK like the 'real' Pravda to YOU?
thanks.

Pinky, let's look at the Obama administration:

1. Economy, pretty much continued the financial sector policies of Bush/Paulson. Now we have Emmanuel/Geithner/Summers. So we keep trying to refloat the banking sector.
Conservatives keep screaming about the budget but the stimulus money has largely NOT been appropriated. Pretty darn important to know the difference between budgeted and appropriated.

2. Foreign policy - not much change. The North is unstable and the areas that are calm are those that were ethnically cleansed with our blessing. More troops to Afghanistan to accomplish just what, I don't know.
Talk tough to Israel and let them build as many settlements as they want.
No changes and hardly progressive.

3. Education - Tim Duncan is running around telling everyone that charters solve all problems. We are still paying through the nose for No Child Left Behind. Standardized testing still rules.

4. Energy - Any changes are dead. There is still no energy program. Just keep driving like fools.

5. Health Care - No change. As boomers enter Medicare they will bankrupt the nation. AND MAKE NO MISTAKE, this is what's driving the activity.
Those that don't have health insurance still don't have it and those that have it are losing it at a growing rate. Wow, I love conservative progress.

So if you want to talk specifics, please do. I don't think you have anything to present but try. Maybe GM and the auto industry. Then we can have an essay by Mr. Z on why it's wrong for Lower Saxony to own 25% of VW/Porsche.

That's a good point that Ducky makes. It isn't NEWS in the sense that is was first published in May.

But on the other hand it is newsworthy, so I wonder if there are any reasons this wasn't published by say the New York Times or The Washington Post? I think everybody to be well informed with "all the news that's fit to print" would be better informed by reading this article, but that could be just me.

Waylon

Z said...

Waylon, yes, it's in my post....it was a few months old...it's news if it's news to you, right? But, of course, news like this couldn't be published in any paper like the NY Times.....hits too close to home; their damage is hard to own up to.
And, of course, this isn't a 'news story'..it's editorial. I just wish more Americans thought this way...or had when we had time to change things.

Ducky...my GOODNESS. DO NOT tell me Bush wasn't PERFECT!! :-)

1. Why hasn't all that money that's been BUDGETED been APPROPRIATED? Maybe, with any luck, we can never spend it, and even pay it back!?

2. Foreign policy..not much change? Ya, except N. Korea and Iran and even little somali pirates are suddenly emboldened...or hadn't you noticed?
Not much change when I saw Clinton in Kenya telling students that it's American corporations spewing pollutions and ruining Africa? Forgetting to mention China and India? Ya,not much has changed!
At least with Bush it wasn't BLAME AMERICA ALL THE TIME, huh?
And yes....Iran can continue to build nuke plants but let Israelis build one house........
It isn't meddling in Israel to tell them what to do but THE ONE sure didn't want to meddle in Iran, did he!!! (his words, not mine, of course)

3. Standard testing should rule. Duncan's a lib hack who had little success in Chicago and less in the WH. sort of like the rest of the WH. Which czar are we ON now, anyway? And HOW MANY are communists? Just Van Jones, or...?? I'd say THAT's a pretty big change from Bush, huh?

4. You haven't been watching NBC much, have you. GREEN! GREEN! GREEN! energy's not dead; we'll be signing Kyoto soon and our economy will be dead, but not energy. Cyclical climate change doesn't happen over the centuries, dontchaknow (even if they DID)

5. Conservative progress would be taking a BIT of the HUGE money needed for this overhaul and helping Medicare. I still don't get why that's so hard to understand.

What would you like to be educated upon regarding VW/Porsche and Saxony? Sorry Mr. Z's too busy to do an essay....maybe he'll comment.

Ducky,

On the economy, Obama and company have quadrupled the federal budget deficit in only six months, and his "stimulus package" that was supposed to cap unemployment at 8% has boosted it to 9.5%. Government-owned GM is about to launch a perfume line.

On foreign policy, you never saw Condi Rice offering the Russians cute little plastic red button "Cold War souvenirs." North Korea never demanded that the Bush administration replace the Secretary of State with someone less vulgar and unintelligent, as it has with Hillary Clinton and the Obamateur administration. This demand is unrealistic. God Himself has no idea what an "intelligent leftist" looks like even in theory, so it's not likely a mere media messiah will find one in reality.

Little things like that. Obama is on pace to reaffirm the Democratic Party's longstanding tradition of foreign policy incompetence.

And on domestic policy, Obama's helping sell the idea that the less Democrats in power, the better.

I try to remain optimistic.

Ducky's here said...

Again Beamish, I stated that the supposed stimulus package (NOT the deficit generating TARP) has not been appropriated. Also he was honest enough to put the Iraq and Afghanistan on the books.

So you right wingers who jump and wet your diapers every time someone says "Muslim". You are helping out also.

Now again, I want to know what you feel is so radical about the Obama administrations economics. I see it as pretty much a continuation of Paulson and when Larry Summers was named head economic advisor, most functionals also agreed.

They are passing out plenty of free chips for the tables at Wall St. again .

Ducky's here said...

By the way Beamish, ... So much for the sucker rally. Stocks just took a serious dive on "worries about the American consumer". Since the earnings gains were largely cost reductions and not increased revenue you knew this might be coming.

Now I'm curious how we are going to resolve this. Unemployment remains quite high and there isn't much of a hiring impulse. This along with ARM resets and the usual culprits will continue to drive foreclosures and prevent a serious housing recovery.
Despite the screams from my conservative brethren the government is not doing a lot of spending. Sure, they are continuing the Paulson financial bailout which we knew would continue when Larry Summers became the key guy in this administration but despite the budget numbers that caused everyone to go ballistic there hasn't been very large appropriations. It's more PR than anything else.

So how do we get out of it? Tax cuts? That's a short term answer and with boomers entering Medicare (and DO NOT kid yourself that isn't the reason we are even talking about health insurance now) that's gong to bankrupt us. Hardly a long or even medium term answer.

Train in the tunnel. Still. But please give me your insight. A couple far right bromides should clear this all up.

Well, I've been hearing about how the baby boomer retirement blitz would bankrupt Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare since I was a snot-nosed punk in high school over 20 years ago. Back then, we had until 2013 or so to stop the impending insolvency. We've done crossed the line of too late to prop up those Ponzi schemes.

Want to hear my right-wing solution? Instead of next month's Social Security checks, send out letters saying "Go F-ck Yourself" and include a diagram how.

No, wait. That would be tragic.

Get some camera crews together to record the pain and shock of people counting on government to save them when it doesn't. I want to see tears rolling for posterity's sake.

Ducky's carping aside, this article is an objective view of what's being done to America, and how clueless too many are in this country, and why.

That, having been said, Americans are waking up. We've created a venue through which to get our voices heard. That is, the tea parties.

The people are finding their collective voice, as in demonstrated in town hall meetings all over the country.

Those tea parties have become a coalition. A connection of citizen activism across America.

This would not have taken place if not for the efforts of ordinary Americans, some of whom have been selfless enough amd motivated to take action to start the first tea party in their areas.

We needed no billionaires, or politicians, or professional community organizers. We needed only a place to meet, word of mouth and the internet to find the nearest tea party.

That was just the beginning. Citizens are looking for the facts regarding issues, we're talking with each other, and we're seeing the reality of what this administration is up to.

So, to sum it up, we can make a difference, we can fight for America and our freedom, and we will.

And, btw Ducky, we don't need to be paid "volunteers" or paid union "thuggers".

Power to the People!

Ducky's here said...

Pris, here's his text on economics. Whaddaya think?

Economics:

On the issue of economics, I admire Pat Buchanan, quite a bit. His paleoconservative (as I believe Americans classify it) views, are very precise. I am an unabashed mercantilist.

Yes, one of my several degrees was in economics and yes, I at one point did believe in the Western rubbish of Free Trade (coincidentally a plank of Marx). However, in my various travels in the military and then for business, I got to see the effects of enforced Free Trade, as well as seeing what it did to Russia in the 90s. As such I, slowly at first, then quickly in my late 20s and early 30s, became a protectionist. I very much believe first and foremost in open internal markets, with government oversight and key investment for strategic sectors and the banning of monopolies.

Free Trade, on the other hand, has been as bad a Western import as Serfdom (in Russia from early 1600s to 1861, far shorter than in most Europe) and Marxism.

Ducky's here said...

Man, this gut is an absolute loony tune :

The West

I do not like the West, first and foremost, because in one way or another, they are an enemy to us and have been about enslaving, disenfranchising and destroying Russia, our faith, culture and even our very race, for 900 years. However, I also do not believe that
1. the "West" is an actual homogeneous unit, which is why I specify the Anglo-Sphere, so often and
2. that we must be enemies and
3. that we can not learn or pickup key points to improve ourselves..

In the "West", we have much common ground with the Germans, Italians,

(NOTE: This clown was probably an AXIS collaborator)

and others, such as, possibly the Scots and Irish. Even in America, regional elements and possible future free nations such as the Texas, Confederacy and Alaska.

Culturally too, there are few things we can pickup.

The Rule of Law is often sited, but I disagree. Our biggest problem with the Rule of Law, going back to the Peter Veliki, is that we have attempted to run the government on a cheap. Thus we have never paid our civil servants a true living wage, expecting them to always make up the lack of money in some other way, which through corruption, they have never failed to do.

I don't care about his credentials, only what is said in the piece, and I responded accordingly.

Any article which deals with commentary instead of straight reporting, is an opinion piece based on the writer's observations.

His writing on global economics which you present, makes some salient points. However, this is not the thrust of the article we are discussing today.

Bait and switch Ducky, bait and switch.

His article today, while it may go back a few months, is nevertheless, pretty astute, and a candid description of what has led us to where we are today in the United States, with one exception.

The American people are not ready to go down with a whimper. We are not willing to be taken over by Marxist, thugger, wannabes. This will become more obvious as the grassroots movement grows. And it will.

"After too many years of apathy, complacency and just becoming so accustomed to the good life...we've come alive."

Great comment Imp. You said it all.

Yes sir, some Russina monarchist prints three very poorly formed criticisms of the U.S. which are nothing more than talking points he got from Rush Gasbag and the far right blogosphere jumps on it like it's profound.

And you wonder why you draw so much laughter.

Give it up, Ducky...YOu STILL don't understand? HOW???

Plato, "Phaedrus"

SOCRATES: There was a tradition in the temple of Dodona that oaks first gave prophetic utterances. The men of old, unlike in their simplicity to young philosophy, deemed that if they heard the truth even from 'oak or rock,' it was enough for them; whereas you seem to consider not whether a thing is or is not true, but who the speaker is and from what country the tale comes.

Yep, unless it is written in a Salon or NY Times editorial, the Left is deaf to truth.

Of course, the Left used to believe EVERYTHING that was written in PRAVDA, too, only the USSR no longer tortures PRAVDA's Editors if they don't tow the pc "party line" (unlike the Gay Mafia enforcers at the Times & Salon).

"Because, z, it's a poorly written screed and it isn't a well reasoned criticism, simple."

And trust me, if anyone would be an expert on poorly written screeds and criticisms that aren't well reasoned it'd be Ducky. He's an expert.

G-Man, check out their crawler today at Pravda.ru, they've got some well researched beauts:

Nazi Germany achieved its technological advantage with aliens’ help

-----

You'll love it.

Ducky's here said...

... or maybe this is more your style G-man:

Russian fishermen catch squeaking alien and eat it

----------------

It's more entertaining than a screed by a guy who hates America, advocates the return of the Czar and believes that all must be subservient to the Orthodox church (talk about dhimmitude).

But the right has to look for allies where they can find them I suppose.

NEVER mind, Ducky.........you're still grasping and it's just stupid.

WE TOLD YOU (READ!) that it doesn't matter who wrote it....
We aren't as ideological as you leftards are....we admire truth no matter who writes it.

go back to KOS...it's getting just stupid..sorry, but.......

Ducky's here said...

Read what, z? Some jackass who wants the czar returned and believes we should all be subservient to the Russian Orthodox church is going to tell me that America has been dumbed down.

Well, maybe the right wing has, but the left still knows an idiot when they read one.

Ducky..good. thanks. FOr heaven's sake...
been very revealing...

Ducky's just frothing Z, that's pretty common for libtools. You just have to prop them up somewhere out of the way and put down towels to catch the mess.

Z said...

G-man, good point..but Ducky's right, too..he doesn't need to hear a guy like the writer tell him America's been dumbed down, he only has to go to his favorite Kos and the New York Times and read THEIR stuff! And throw Lawrence O'Donnell or Rachel Maddow or Keith Olbermann into the mix..:)

Ducky, how is any of THAT you cited any different from what Pravda's been publishing for nary a hundred years?

I'd say the rest of the ole Pravda staff is working down at the National Enquirer. You know how cheap it is to hire them foreigners! No SSA taxes! Woo-Hoo!
