Health care, Geithner, and DOES he think we're stupid?

Please read below and see THIS article if you have the stomach for more:

WASHINGTON – Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says the U.S. must cut the annual federal budget deficit, now more than $1 trillion, for the economy to have a sustained recovery and he's not ruling out new taxes. (Z: are we paying him much for this amazing revelation? And, wait...didn't Obama say NO NEW TAXES? Media? Remember when the first president Bush said that? Remember how you reacted when HE said that, MEDIA?)

He said the country needs to understand that the Obama administration will do what's necessary. He did not detail how the government plans to shrink the deficit, though he said overhauling the health care system and lowering costs are essential.

Um. What will they use next to get Americans who are sleeping to REALLY believe that completely overhauling the healthcare 90% of Americans say they're satisfied with is a GOOD idea without actually reading the bill? This is about POWER, folks...taking over. This has NOTHING to do with health care..........we need to understand that. If this had to do with doing the best thing for Americans and really considering health care coverage for those of us who can't afford it, they'd be focusing in on health care coverage for those of us who can't afford it, NOT OVERHAULING so quickly and utterly completely. PLEASE go to ANY Town Hall your Democrat Senators of Congressman have this August, because they're a little scared of you now.. Of course, they feel any type of disagreement is 'unruly'...click HERE to see what ways the Democrats are using to SHUT US DOWN. Be unruly.......Make THEM sweat for a change.

After reading that, it's kind of difficult to be cheery, but please read below and smile again! This stuff's not important....what's below IS. xx z

Great post Z!
About "Universal Health Care";

Just remember that it's a euphemism for a government takeover of all health care. Ask yourself WHY the Democrats want to take over your health care. That's the only thing that really matters.

Answer: Once the Democrats control your access to health care they control your vote. Period.
At that point, all they have to do every election cycle is scream "the Republicans want to take away your health care!"

This method already works for them with "Mediscare" and Social Security. They scare the pants off a certain % of elderly voters by claiming that those big, bad Republicans want to take away your social security or "reduce" your benefits. They already have the game plan, they're waiting for this final piece ("universal health care") to fall into place. THAT'S why the Dems are pushing socialized medicine so hard.

EVERYTHING the government does is more expensive than the private sector because efficiency and profit are taken out of the equation. Basic laws of economics--just like gravity--do NOT cease to exist when the government gets involved.

That's not scaremongering, that's the truth. RATIONING is the only method that governments use to control health care costs. Certain people will be denied health care based on their "usefulness" to society.

So WHO will get the liver transplant? The young illegal alien house framer? Or the 67 year old retiree who could live 12 more years with a healthy liver?

We all know the answer to that, don't we?

People looove to hate the insurance companies. What they fail to consider is that when your insurance company screws you, you can sue, and then move to a better compny.
If your claim is valid, you should be made whole again at the expense of the insurer. THAT'S the way it's supposed to work for freedom-loving people in a free market. Stupidity and fraud is supposed to be expensive for the perpetrator. Enforcing laws against force and fraud is also the ONLY valid job of the government in this equation.

When the government screws you over you will have to leave the gd country to get health care! Ooops, you won't be able to run to Canada for that hip replacement! Get your plane ticket to India.

Page 16 in their precious bill eliminates private health care over time and makes the "public option" the only game in town. Who will you appeal to when the government screws you over?

"Seasoned" citizens will be told to go home and "take this pain pill."
So much for quality of life in your golden years.

cube said...

In my neighborhood there are many seasoned citizens who consistently vote democrat. We saw the Obama signs in their yards (Clinton,
Gore & Kerry before that).

How do you make these people realize the folly of their thinking? Obamacare will have them being marched to hospice at the earliest possible opportunity to die for the greater good.

And pain pills can become quite costly. Look at the recent case in the UK (I think) where a man in terrible pain was denied pain injections because of cost. This is inhumane.

Of course taxes will go sky high, along with everything else. These nutjobs running our country are doing their best to ruin it. It's interesting that only the letter "i" makes the difference between "run" and "ruin" don't you think?

The Obama, the answer to humanity's deepest longings, is a liar.

Welcome to reality children.

Of course we grown ups knew better from day one.

I've been waiting on a comment from you on my last post...which also covers health care.

You need to visit more often Z...I need you wisdom.

Werner Herzog had it all right back in the late 70's in "Stroszek".

Give it a look if you haven't seen it. Especially good are the visits from the bank loan officer and the final towing away of the hero's trailer.

"I told you we were going to have to pay for that sometime."

Great vision of unregulated capitalism. Especially the ending with poor Stroszek getting out of his burning car and heading up the ski lift on Thanksgiving with a stolen frozen turkey and a shotgun.

"Chief, this is car 17. We can't find him and we can't cut off the power to the dancing chicken."

Terrific film and one of the greatest endings of all time.

Poor Obama, no way to cut off the power to the dancing chicken.

Bravo my friend, and you didn't need the help of the Messiah Obama or any of his Disciples to figure that out... as some might think.

Great blog.

Ducky's here said...

Yeah, it's something , isn't it.

Chucklenuts Bush, Hank Paulson, Larry Summers and his cabana boy, Timmy "Taxes" Geithner come up with this scheme to bail out the Ayn Rand crowd on the street with our tax money and z starts complaining that the government wants to limit the eye popping financial sector bonuses.

It's quite interesting what passes for reason on the right, I find.

FrogBurger said...

Ducky you're sooo smart. The people on wall street are not necessarily Ayn Rand folks. They're just people taht can be easily corrupted. Like Obama and Geitner, who are not any better than Bush with Halliburton.
As we say in French, you have sausage skin in front of your eyes.

Ducky's here said...

Froggy, I'm a vegetarian. I don't totally abstain but I would never have a sausage.

Meanwhile, we watch the "Cash for Clunkers" and the right doesn't seem to realize that it's a program to start people releveraging. It's the only thing the capitalist crowd knows how to do.

Palin 2012 -- Because we deserve a quicker death.

Z said...

Always, FJ...it SHOULD work, SHOULDN"T it? :-)
I mean, it never has, but.... OBAMA CAN! ?(ya, right)

Jingo...good synopsis there..would that leftwingers would pay attention...or care about what they read?

Cube, RaDena, FrogBurger, people HAVE to wake up FAST.

Shorpat, we sure did.

TonyC....I'm sorry I haven't come around...I've barely been able to handle my own blog; we've got 'stuff' we're dealing with...but I'll be there !

Ducky, NOTHING needed complete buyouts...NOTHING needs complete overhaul. Leftwingers aren't corrupt? (Ya, when the media's not looking) And do you think conservatives like the corrupt amongst them? Let's talk Teddy Kennedy, okay? But, truly...it's time to stop the nasty tit for tat and start to work against the socialism/communism you're so fond of.

FrogBurger, please don't compare Ducky to the French. You know how I feel about Paris.

The liberal take over of the healthcare industry goes far beyond using it as a fear tactic. Once they control healthcare, they can not only intrude upon your life and dictate what you do ...

You can't own guns because homes with guns in them are more prone to gunshot wounds
You can't smoke
you can't drink
etc...

It also allows them to decide who lives and dies...

G-Man will not receive life extending care because he is not one of us!

Read the article linked in the post's text.

There is no point in meeting with my constituents and [to] listen to them and have them listen to you if what is basically an unruly mob prevents you from having an intelligent conversation.” -Tim Bishop.

In other words he doesn't understand that the unruly mob IS his constituents. Talk about taxation without representation!

Ducky's here said...

You can't own guns because homes with guns in them are more prone to gunshot wounds

-----------------------

Yeah but why do we care?

Besides, required firearms courses should virtually guarantee fatalities.

FrogBurger said...

Ducky you're a moron. You're using not-funny humor to defend the thugs because you have nothing of substance and value to bring to their defense.

FrogBurger said...

And you should eat some meat. Sounds like your brain cells are screaming for protein.

G-Man said...

Well no Froggy, Ducky shouldn't eat meat because PETA says that it's unhealthy so that'll be another thing struck from your to-do list by socialized health care.

FrogBurger said...

It proves another point socialism is not social, liberalism is not for the small folks. It's all about the big corporations, making people poorer and slaves, brainwash them so they can stay in power as kings.

Obama and Geitner are like Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.

Ducky's here said...

Now , now Froggy, you're right as far as you go but you really need to include Paulson, Greenspan and any number of Rethug monopoly capitalism apologists.

How do you like this one ... "In the SEC settlement, BofA agreed to pay $33m to settle claims that it didn’t provide complete information to its shareholders about a $5bn bonus pool at Merrill Lynch prior to the December 2008 shareholder vote to approve BofA’s acquisition of Merrill."

Pretty Draconian, huh? Remember, this all happened during the Chucklenuts administration and now Bank of America has to pay 33 million in tax payer bailout back because they had a hidden 5 billion executive slush fund.
These are the same crew that z was all upset about when it came out that Congress wants to try to keep these slush funds under wraps and pretend they're getting tough with the Street.

Anonymous said...

I'm afraid Obama and his ilk are out of luck. I'm not able to pay any more than the 33% plus sales tax, plus property tax, plus restaurant "eat in" tax, plus gasoline tax, plus road use tax and all the other taxes I already pay.

Ducky's here said...

Sorry Hermit, you were gung ho for that Iraq and Afghanistan stuff and Bush tax cuts and equity bubbles ... time to pay your bills. Or aren't you an honorable man?

I pay mine even though I protested all of that insane Bush era crap.

Bill is due. Pay up.

The Gray Headed Brother said...

Wake me up when your feeling better.

FrogBurger said...

Duckette you can rewind to Clinton also.

But what's the point of blaming the previous guy when those morons make the situation worse and not better?

It's like saying my wife cheated on me so I can cheat on her.

Ducky's here said...

Ah Froggy, now we are making progress.

You could rewind to Raygun or Nixon or Johnson. Point is that we as a poeple need to be able to converse with each other without a lot of strawman arguments and understand that we have a proble. I happen to feel it is a big problem and if anyone thinks the way out of this is picking which party can con us into believing they have a perpetual motion machine then we sink. We are finished. Simple.

We better get down to the damn root causes and that's gonna take more than a bunch of cheap cliches. And right now those are everywhere from every side.

Right or left, ignorance is not your friend.

Z said...

OH, Ducky, please.

We all try to remain calm, civil and constructive in our conversations and you come up with the 'bed wetters', constant anti-war crap, every nasty thing you can think of about Bush et al, "Raygun", nasty things about any Conservative you can think of (especially if YOU think they MIGHT be...calm down ,now..GAY!!!)

Please don't come here and lecture on how a real meeting of the minds might help. We ALL feel that way...WE TRY...we'd all like to help save America from the clutches of socialism, but you....?

Oh, I forgot, you're hoping to secure her INTO the clutches. I forgot.

G-Man said...

Ducky is right about one thing. The political parties have screwed us over big time. The only thing they are interested in is perpetuating their hold on the reins of power. Do you honestly think that any of those corrupt boneheads would actually change the mechanism that keeps them in DC? For example, all of the polling indicates that the American people very much support term limits... Do you think any one of those crooked bastards would truly bear that torch? What about true campaign finance reform. Do you think that will ever happen? Nope, sorry ladies and gents the machine is broken.

FrogBurger said...

Thanks Z for standing up for me. If Ducky was in front of me, I'd take a stinky French cheese make him eat it at breakfast.

Z said...

You don't love a stinky French cheese?

All that's missing is for the President to bite his lower lip, and say, "ah trahd, reelly ah did, ah was up all naht, tryin' not to raise taxes, but ah just couldn' do it".

What goes around comes around, and anyone who's surprised has to have his/her head examined.

And Ducky will never understand that a big tax cut would be the healthiest, across the board stimulus we could have.

It's not targeted to any group, there are no strings, it just frees up the economy to do it's thing.

The only reason this isn't being done, is because it doesn't add to the government's power and control.

However if lowering our standard of living is the goal, then, Obama and the democrat congress are doing exactly what they see as the right thing to do.

I take it back, Ducky is getting exactly what he thinks he wants.
Some folks are too ignorant to see the forest for the trees. And to prove it he cites a movie. Brilliant. A movie.

A pretend world for a pretend mind. Perfect!

Z said...

Pris, I'm beginning to see he just wants AMERICA one big cesspool of lower standard of living..because SOME PEOPLE have suffered in our history, ALL OF US ARE TO SUFFER UNDER THE ONE with the BIG CHIP on his shoulder. HOw disgusting.

Thank you, Karmina/Susan. I'm glad to have you here and welcome more comments.

Hi Z,
When a government official say that the government will do whatever is necessary, that leaves everything open to interpretation, IMO. Listening to them and watching what they do it's becoming more obvious that "whatever is necessary" could well be more than a bit frightening.

A bit off topic here ...

I came across another American blog that was linked thru the Canadian Free Press blog. I only mention it because from what I've seen on the blog (and yours) it may be of interest to you and your blog followers.

http://www.fracamerica.org/index.html

The blog is serious but I'll copy a cute joke that was on the site that I think is excellent ...

"A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him,

"Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

"She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be an Obama Democrat."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it's my fault."

Thanks, Waylon, good one!
....did you happen to see (obama healthcare fan) Paul Kruger's gaffe?
"How many Canadians are here today at this panel discussion?"
7 people raised their hands.
"How many Canadians really think their healthcare system is terrible?"

All raised their hands.
For a guy who 100% supports it, he had to say "I guess I shouldn't have asked".. It's hard for leftwingers to understand facts DO impress and inform thinking people.

Anonymous said...

Ducky, it's a hoot hearing you use the term "honorable." Much you know about it. You insult people left and right because you know they can't lay hands on you to hold you accountable for what you say. I don't have a problem with you disagreeing but you always have to be snide and sarcastic, and you don't mind a bit being a major league bigot and insulting whole groups of people. It'll catch up to you eventually.

MathewK said...

"This has NOTHING to do with health care..........we need to understand that."

Exactly, it's all about control and taking over of your lives. First they tell you that you can't handle things like healthcare yourself and once you've swallowed that pill, they'll tell you they need to raise taxes a little to help them help you.

And so it starts the road to servitude and slavery to the insatiable parasite class.

Anonymous said...

I didn't see that, Z. The Canadian Health Care plan has been around for so long and it's so deeply entrenched it would take a major revolution in thinking to change it. One sure way to lose an election would be to propose changing it as the media would marginalize those that want to change it and scare the country into voting for the party that wants to keep the status quo.

It's pretty ugly now the way the cheer leaders in the media for Obama never question expanding the government and vilify those that point out the errors of his ways.

Waylon
