Health Care....And OH, does the media care

I thought it was so "odd" that this story would come out today...click HERE. JUST when Obama's been pounding on COMPETITION! The media never lets him down, does it. Make sure you see that page in my link and the picture posted with it! NO bias, NO inference, NO persuasion there, right? The mother with child waiting with free tickets to a clinic? Ya....oh, man, is the AP and Yahoo working for THE ONE, or WHAT?!!

And, of course, when you read the article you can see how we could at least work toward fixing the problems we have TODAY without complete overhaul. We need to SHUT DOWN PROFIT MAKING COMPANIES~! WE NEED TO STOP BIG CORPORATIONS!! They want it ALL CHANGED, we need to be COMPLETELY dependent on this government which is "Not in the business of health care" ....WHAT?

And, talk about competition........the privates will be competing with the public, right? But, Waxman just wrote letters demanding business information from the private insurance companies....and I'm wondering if the public will have to provide private information to its private competitor (ya, right)? :Maybe our government simply doesn't understand the term competition anymore?

It's my understanding that as our commerce laws are set up, insurance companies can't compete across state lines, thereby giving the large insurance companies something akin to monopolies, in their states.

This is counterproductive to competition, and gives the government an excuse to claim there's not enough competition.

It seems to me if the government wants competition, they could change the commerce laws.

But, of course they don't really want competition, they want control.

Pris, that's positively scary...you're probably absolutely right about the commerce laws and competition. They argue that "you poor people just can't take your insurance with you" when, in reality, all they'd have to do is change the laws.

WE ARE SCREWED, people...somebody's doing something to us and we're just sitting by, typing and watching

I'm 100% with Pris on this one.

If they're really worried about lack of competition, they should be open to the idea of a national health insurance market. Let people purchase insurance across state lines.

But that wouldn't transfer power to the power hungry politicians, would it? Sorry. Stupid idea.

If any insurance company complies with Waxman's request, they are setting themselves up for ruination. Now is the time for them to stand up and say "No."

It's all about dogging the employer, 'big insurance,' big oil, etc. It's class warfare like we've never seen.

Let me ask - who do they think PROVIDES JOBS???? Pays HIGHEST TAXES for what would be "free" healthcare? Who do they think will start slashing insurance plans (to compensate for confiscatory taxation) for employees once a 'public option' goes into effect? Who do they think will have MASSIVE layoffs once a public option kills private insurance industry (hint: Blue Cross, Cigna, MedCost)?

This whole thing is a nightmare.

Oh, & AP uses their token Republican to validate their propaganda...Olympia Snowe?? Really? Is that RiNO (Rep. in Name Only) the best they could do???

Please.
