Hillary in South Africa..........where next? UPDATE: S. Africans are reading this post; I wish they'd chime in, disagree, agree; I like truth

Hillary is visiting South Africa and she's thrilled that they like her now. Click HERE for the article. Here's just one paragraph that particularly caught my eye:
President Barack Obama is eager to remake a relationship that had suffered during the Bush administration due to differences with former South African President Thabo Mbeki's government over the cause and treatment of AIDS and the crisis in Zimbabwe.

But....no president has done more against AIDS in Africa than Bush. And Zimbabwe? Mugabe wouldn't let anybody approach there with a stick ten miles long! This is a COMPLETE mischaracterization of the situation. HERE's an article describing the situation more realistically. Here's one paragraph from it:

The primary driver for emigration among all groups, but especially whites, who still retain the majority of South Africa's wealth, is fear of crime. With more than 50 killings a day, South Africa has one of the highest per capita murder rates in the world. The same goes for rape—ranking the country alongside conflict zones such as Sierra Leone, Colombia and Afghanistan. Future Fact polling indicates that more than 95 percent of those eager to leave South Africa rate violent crime as the single most important factor affecting their thinking.

Yes, ending apartheid was a VERY good thing, but S Africa is not the country it once was in so many ways......it stopped flourishing, stopped growing....it's unsafe to walk anywhere at night, companies and people have and are leaving in droves.

Imagine Obama saying that it's Bush's fault American relations with Zimbabwe are bad? Does he stop caring for Blacks when they're in Africa? Will he be cozying up to MUGABE next? WOW. Well, Hillary, maybe you can get their people more settled, more satisfied, to stop today's nightmare of S Africa. I hope so. Oh, and GOOD LUCK with Mugabe!! (Mr. Z wrote some good stuff on this subject months ago...check it out HERE.)

Hilary's approval number seem to be going up while Obama's go down. It's certainly too early to make predictions, but it makes you wonder about the possibility of a contested primary in 08.

Well, maybe I will make a prediction--though it's more Jay Nordlinger's than mine. Obama governs as a far leftist: cap and trade, cash for clunkers, universal health care, immigration reform, tax hikes, etc. Then a small step to the right (a tax cut or a measure that would be tougher on criminals) and then in 08 Obama runs as the great centrist.

Tio...did you mean those last few words there? in 08 Obama runs as the centrist? I'm missing something, I think!? You mean Hillary runs in 2012 as the great centrist?

Heck, I'd even go for that AWFUL woman if Obama was running against her!

ducky, learn to try to use facts and not insult.
See Bono on Bush in Africa, okay?
See the stats. Don't lecture my readers with leftwinger pablum which they know better from.
Thanks so much.

I'm saying O can govern as a radical for 3 to 3.5 years. Then he can mitigate his liberalism for a few months, leaving swing voters with the impression he's a pragmatist. Thus, the majority of the term will be to the far left, but the part fresh in the mind of voters in '12 will be of the closer to center portion.

Of course, Yogi Bera warned, "Never make predictions, especially about the future."

Ducky was spewing pablum? And to think, I refrained from blaming him for the computer problems you were experiencing.

Next time, I'll just keep your disdainful lines in the comments, okay? and nobody thinks you can "clean my clock" here...but very nice try.

Get a blog, Ducky, you can spew and rant and insult there all you want.
Not here. Trust me.
