Sunday Faith Blog

Gentle, good words like those above get forgotten in the fast-paced, angry, and passionate world of politics we deal with here at the blogs.........but, we mustn't forget them. We wish you a blessed Sunday that's full of those wonderful, uplifting words ......Mr and Mrs Z

Those things are all what WE do which, through our concentrating, our thinking, our effort, can help us .....
But the Scripture is about just thinking about the the beautiful things in God's Word and seeing and experiencing that it's all HIM..not "Do this behavior, do that effort" God is here for us by only recognizing, thinking and dwelling about such good things. It's a huge comfort. it's almost wierd how it works.

You missed the ultimately important point I mentioned, and of course, to followers of Jesus these last thousands of years, His words are the most important ones....
but only if salvation is desired.

No, it's not right to attack anybody's beliefs, what is right is to straighten them out from misquoting or misinterpreting one's own.

Muslims are frequently misquoted or misinterpreted by those with the ability to skip over the parts that are getting Americans and others beheaded or blown up...I'm hoping more people wake up to that truth and that good muslims in America start fighting the call to action in the Koran.

Forgive me, but my own idea of what is most important, Z, especially in this forum, is that one should rationally and tolerantly discuss different political ideas without personally attacking the persons who hold them----that is, without calling them an ignoramus, an imbecile, a fascist, a Nazi, or some other pejorative.

When someone has been gracious enough to leave her door open on a Sunday morning, inviting others to find inspiration from her love of Christian scripture - one would indeed need to be an ignoramous not to realize that this particular post is not the place for an oppositional challenge.

Her post is purely a gift - and it is completely our choice whether or not to find glory and inspiration from the words that she chooses to share.

I sincerely respect the rights of every person to worship as they so desire - but realizing that this one post in this one "forum" is faith-based should not take extreme enlightenment. Personally, I find that philosophical thought can be quite spiritual - but it may be impossible to convince anyone here that the words "I AM" are not as powerful as some speculative, non-theistic thoughts such as the words "I might be" - or "I could be." And while our collective comments should make that quite clear to anyone reading them - Buddha does warn that fruitless intellectual disputation distracts from the practices leading to enlightenment.....

As in the free market economy, you get great stuff and not so great stuff.
I won't be a BLOG POLICEMAN, I'm just not leftwinger enough...sorry you're uncomfortable.
But, of course, this Sunday Faith Blog, like Miradena so wisely reminds us, isn't the place for nastiness and, frankly, I don't see where you were attacked here at all.
I thought the conversation was fine. This is a CHRISTAN BLOG, psi bond...MY BLOG....and I like to think it's a blog for my other Christian friends to come and rest and be nourished and contribute to, as well.
We celebrate our faith here ...
Pure and simple. There are many blogs which celebrate others...and nobody seems to mind.

psi bond, are you being complete dense on purpose? The purpose of this blog, as I understand it, is a celebration of CHRISTIANITY!

Heritical quotes have no place. All ideas are not equal, regardless of what cult or false religion you happen to belong to. Or not.

I'm sure that the followers of Kali probably have some great one liners too, but it doesn't mean that it's a valid religion. Frankly, the reason for the disagreement can be summed up in this thought: People that use moral equivelancy to water down Faith in the Almighty are a cancer on this society. As such, they are responsible for the nihilistic trends in our society. You psi bond are a classic example.

Kali is a goddess in Hinduism and has nothing whatsoever to do with the Buddha or Buddhism. You just don't get it, Greywolfe. Eternal wisdom is ecumenical. That shouldn't be perceived as a challenge to anyone's Christianity. Christianity is a good religion, but I think it's a pity so few Christians practice it.

The quote was not intended by me to be a nihilistic challenge; it is sad if that is the way you understand it. In fact, it is an expression of tolerance for everyone's religion.

Keep your powder dry for shooting at real targets, not me, Greywolfe.
