Tarkanian for Senate....Nevada MUST do this!

I had this post up earlier only because I'd scheduled it on auto-post ....when I got home it was here and I decided to take it off for a while so more people can read and comment on Mr. Z's piece on sports just below (thanks for your comments).
Before you read the post below, though....I must tell you Ducky had commented in the short while this was up about Dan Tarkanian's father, Jerry, the big-winning basketball coach...the comment 's there now; please check it out.....after reading it, I had to wonder how many times Ducky voted for Ted Kennedy, who was so 'tired' he had to go to bed instead of going to the police for Mary Jo Kopechne? OH, the irony... But, I digress.......

Here's my original post:
$10 for TARK
........Please contribute at least $10 to Danny Tarkanian of Nevada...he's running for the senate against Mr. Harry Reid (now, now, read this post and THEN run to your checkbook!) Hugh Hewitt's site, HERE, has the information you'll need through which you can contribute.
HERE's a good piece on Mr. Tarkanian.......Then hear an introduction video about him HERE. In this video, he tells about his family, his career, and why he wants to run for senate. I think you'll like him. Of course, people ask Hewitt "Why Tarkanian?" and Hewitt says "He's not Reid..." Which, in itself is good enough, but, I think Tarkanian has a lot more than that (and so does Hugh, of course!) Oh, and the man's Armenian.........does that influence me? HECK YES! :-) But, mostly, he's a conservative Republican and we need him in Washington. And we need him yesterday.
If you've got an extra ten bucks, please donate, it's a secure site and easy to do...just $10. For America's future....one by one, we need to replace the Democrats with Republicans. Start now! This is REAL Grass Roots, folks...let's get it going! Thanks so much.

geeeeeZ!

Yeah, dad ran a clean program.

Like father like son.

Not kidding. Just did. 50 isn't too much. It's money I won't spend on something else.

Reid was down by double digits only two weeks after Tark entered the race

As a Nevadan... Well DUH! At this point it's anyone but Reid! Sue Lowden may enter the race as well and in polls Reid loses to her as well.

And Ducky, funny how infidelity is a bad thing when you're a republican but a good thing for a democrat...

Oh wow, I'm torn. I'm a Nevadan too and I certainly understand the sentiment "anybody but Reid," but for a long time I've been behind a great candidate who is from Reno, Sharron Angle.

Tarkanian looks like a good guy on first glance but I KNOW Sharron Angle, I've met her and my brother even dated her in high school and works for her campaigns. She's a true blue conservative and a Christian. So I have to put in a plug for her.

Of course we want whoever has the best chance of winning and her campaign isn't getting the big media boost of the southern candidates from Vegas in Clark County, though I think she's the best of the best and SHOULD be getting a lot more support.

She knows how to run a campaign and has won a few against popular incumbents in the state legislature over the last decade. She goes out and knocks on doors and gets to know people. She's extremely articulate and really knows her stuff, which you can see if you watch the videos at her site. She also invites emails.

I hope some of you will go to her web site and take a LITTLE more time before you send out your campaign donation because she really might be a much better choice than Tarkanian. A bunch of us in poorer but smarter Northern Nevada think so. :o)

We can give money to both as long as Reid gets out.

Divide and conquer!

I knew there was another candidate from Clark County but couldn't think of her name. Vegas Art Guy named her so I went and looked her up and found this interestingly cynical article about Nevada politics including a mention of Sharron Angle as a "teabagger." The guy thinks anybody could beat Tarkanian, doesn't think he looks trustworthy:

Thanx Z. And happy B-day to Mr. Z! Tomorrow?

Elbro...TOO COOL!

Vegas Art Guy...good to see you out and about...I hope the classes are going well! I've got to email a friend who lives in Vegas and see his thoughts, too..thanks for yours, I've missed seeing you.

Common Cents..you keep asking, and I appreciate it, but I'm too computer dumb to know what a LINK EXCHANGE even is. Is it just blogrolling each other? (don't tell anybody I'm this bad on computerese!!) I'm happy as is...all the best!

Faith, I don't really care WHO beats Reid as long as somebody Conservative does. I'll check out Lowdon, thanks.

RightKlik..yup (shhhh!!)xxx

Faith said...

I don't know a thing about Lowden, Z, but I do know a lot about Sharron Angle. I hope you'll take a look at her first.

Z said...

Faith, thanks......
I just emailed my buddy in Vegas and asked his opinion...
when I've got more time, I'll check out the 2 women. I appreciate your input.
but, of course, I like the Armenian (smile!)

As a Nevadan... Well DUH! At this point it's anyone but Reid!

I'm a Californian and I had the same reaction. Reid has got to go. Pelosi too, for that matter.

Z said...

Opus..we're both Californians and we both know who ELSE we'd like to have GO (yesterday), right?!

Z said...

Here's my Vegas friend's remark via email:

"IT WAS SHARON ANGLE, Z (Z; who interested him previously, we'd discussed her a few months ago) BUT I AM WITH YOU. I WILL BACK TARKANIAN, ALSO.
IN TWO SEPARATE POLLS EARLIER THIS WEEK, HE LEADS HARRY REID SO HE IS OUR BEST BET."

good!

Faith said...

Well, may the best candidate win. Getting rid of Harry Reid is the most important objective. But I really wish Sharron Angle had the backing to do it.

Brooke said...

Let the Dems keep dissing the People, and they will get their backsides handed to them in the upcoming elections by young upstarts.

We SHOULD support their opposition.

It's like the 90's all over again, x100, LOL!

Done...as asked. Reid...well I can't really say what I think of the lying, cheating, scumbag, fraud, asshole and once on the take from the casino mob bosses in Nevada....can I? If I ever have to see or listen to this vagabond loser...I'll crap a brick... and he can take nancy pelousy with him to the hooker ranch.

FrogBurger said...

Did you see the ABC guy on O'Reilly tonight about the CIA? Either they're desperate for ratings and have to go on Fox now to show their faces. Or the wind is changing direction.

Z said...

FrogBurger, no I didn't see the ABC guy on O'Reilly..what was the deal?

The Vegas Art Guy said...

Faith, thanks for reminding me about Sharron Angle. Must be the lack of sleep.

Who is Danny Tarkanian? I heard his dad coached basketball and I also know his mom is a Las Vegas City Council Democrat. Nevada please don't get suckered because this Danny Tarkanian has never even been elected as dog catcher. I hope that Nevada will vote a real Republican this time.
I checked out the Sharron Angle web page you told me about, and she got a real record and I am sending her money. If anybody else can prove they are conservative and don't like Reid then I will send them money too!

MathewK said...

I'd happily give him $10, even $20 or $50 if he can kick that scumbag Reid out, unfortunately you politicians can't take donations from us overseas.

Funny how that scumbag soros manages to get around that though.

Have conservatives figured out that Harry Reid is one of the reasons public option health care is blocked?

Do they realize that one of the best ways to make the Dems ineffective is to leave this toad in there.

Ducky the fair weather fan. What a weak man. Typical of the left.

Speaking of Nevada I came across an interesting man that at one time ran for governor of Nevada, Aaron Russo. I recall reading his obituary a couple of years ago and not being familiar with who he was except that I knew I had seen and enjoyed the movie, Trading Places, which I enjoyed.

I've recently watched a documentary which he produced shortly before he died — "America: Freedom to Fascism" — which I'd highly recommend to anybody concerned with the problems of the country and the world today. He's got some great stuff, IMO and some jaw-dropping info on one of the Rockefellers, Nicholas Rockefeller, who may be a legal eagle in Santa Monica, I believe. He's the only individual who I've checked on Wikipedia whose page has been deleted and you are redirected to a page at the Trilateral Commission.

Waylon

FrogBurger said...

Yes, waylon I've seen this documentary a year ago. I'm always cautious with this stuff but what's been said is not far off. I also recommend it.

The human nature is about power and freedom. We're doomed with this perpetual dichotomy in our nature. We have eliminated aristocracy but I believe the pathological willingness to dominate, to make a family a dynasty to mark history or other purpose will never go away.

When you think about it, those guys all study in the same schools, build networks, they can be in different parties but behind closed doors, their sole goal is to stay in power.

And power is usually interesting for very basic things: self esteem, money or sex. Some people would do whatever it takes to keep those benefits.

That's why the Constitution must be defended.
