Do you like the new DOJ website look?

The bottom image is the older Department of Justice website masthead...the black one at the top is the new one. Strange, don't you think? Gone are the stars and stripes...........The screen shot below is from 2008. The new top website information has this quote: "The common law is the will of mankind, issuing from the life of the people." (except in the case of Prop 8 in California, of course) It's a quote from C Wilfred Jenks, who was a leading proponent of the international law movement of the 1930's, which had as its goal the imposition of a global common law and which backed global workers' rights. SURPRISE!
WHAT IS GOING ON, folks? And what exactly was wrong with the original masthead?

Interesting. They are doing so many things so fast, it's hard to catch them all.

Trestin, normally I'd prefer the black/gold simple combination for anything else. But, it seems so fraught with meaning to banish the stars and stripes from any department of our government's masthead. Yes, it IS hard to catch all the changes...they said they wanted to change America. My God, they sure have

Don't worry Z, it will be revised in about 2 1/2 years.

I think it is telling that they used a quote from a world government proponent.

BTW, stop back by my blog from yesterday, curious as to your thoughts on my response.

What???

BTW, one sees a lot of black and gold as color scheme in Muslim countries, particularly Afghanistan and Saudi.

I have noticed over the years that the Dark Side (Lucifer's Kids) always 1)write - their intent
2)state their intent aloud-
3) then follow through with their intent--
I look at the change as an
'heads up'
-the slow slide to Internationalism will become an avalanche...

"Department of Justice" is much more pronounced and legible on the new design.

Much better. They had a professional do it.

Yeah, AOW, he was head of the ILO, a U.N. labor organization.

You know, human rights, but because it has an international scope it's the bad kind of freedom.

Must have cost over a million dollars to get this new design.

Human rights at the UN? Like Iran leading the commission on women's rights.

I need more jokes like this. I love laughing.

Looks like they're adding a "3rd Dimension" to both their official symbols AND official legal interpretations...

G_d help us all.

Ducky, you're almost getting humorous now.
you honestly don't even understand, do you....
Of course the black/gold is wonderful, much more sophisticated a dezign ......and, heck, it spares them, and people like you, who look at stars and stripes like a vampire looks at the cross.

The New World Order galloping along now.

The Department of Justice under the Obama administration is an oxymoron.

This is different from our situation with Ducky, who is only a moron.

This administration is determined to do away with all things traditional American.

For Ducky's benefit, the Dept. of Justice is there to adjudicate American laws, not international laws.

While Ducky is concerned for worldwide human rights, I'm inclined to be concerned with our losing our god given rights, right here in America.

The only country and people this administration seems to disdain, is our own. The will of the people in the USA, has not been listened to, or adhered to. We're being taken to the cleaners, and we all know it.

This change in the logo best represents what they stand for. And it is not the American people.

Obama, in his own words, has stated he'd like to change the American National Anthem, and the American flag. He has no use for this country, or anything American.

It's obvious, and if I was to guess, this is not the only American symbol his administration will toy with.

I just ask everyone to get involved in the upcoming election. Please contribute to conservative candidates. Do something.

FB, my son is a professional graphics designer and commercial artist, and he's very good too.

If the government spent anything close to a million dollars for this rather simple logo, we were ripped off big time.

Z,
Too bad they couldn't see their way clear to quote one of our founding fathers. There's a whole bunch quotes about the importance of the constitution and individual rights, natural right and a whole host things Holder and his people find repugnant.

FrogBurger said...

Pris I was ironic. That's what cost the new WH site I believe.

How can I contact you? I have a client who needs a talent graphic designer for a Web project.

Maybe go through Z.

Thanks

I look on things like this with amusement. They are desperately trying to change everything they can before they get thrown out on their ears.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that the BO regime is lurching purposefully and at full speed towards dismantling most of the institutions that made our country great.

Hi FB. Yes, you can contact me through Z. I'll ask her to send you my email address.

Thanks, I'll look forward to hearing from you.

I'm surprised they didn't put an islamic crescent in there. After all hasn't it been decreed by liberals in the west that islam is a stupid, below-standard ideology/culture unable to hold its own ground. I mean, why else would they insist on various programs to coddle islam and make muslims feel better about themselves, if it were just another religion on an equal footing with every other one. I mean, you don't see any outreach programs building bridges, making up accomplishments and sharing feelings towards Bhuddists or Hindus do you.

The quotation is from an inscription carved into the DOJ building when it was built. In 1934.

While Jenks wrote a book called The Common Law of Mankind in 1958, the quotation on the DOJ building probably isn't attributable to him (he was 25 years old when the building was built), its more likely that he took the title of his book from the quotation. The quotation has also been attributed to Sir William Blackstone. This seems a better fit, as Blackstone's writings on common law were quite influential on many of the Founding Fathers.

Did we need to waste time and dollars on this change other than an ego needing to leave its mark? (Another one.) I would love to know how much "we" paid for this unnecessary expense.

Apparently this quote has been carved on the outside of the building for more than 14 years. http://commdocs.house.gov/committees/judiciary/hju44002.000/hju44002_0f.htm
