Mr. AOW bartends at our local VFW. There, the celebration for Monday is filled with a lot of remembering of the meaning of Memorial Day.

We have a cookout too, of course.

Perfect. This is a neat idea of yours Z, to post a cartoon every day for Memorial day.

Isn't it sad that most people will only be thinking about these things?

That is a clever illustration.

I know you won't let those around you forget that this is much, much more than just another excuse for a 3 and 4 day weekend.

Remembrance, appreciation, and doing honor to those who have sacrificed on our behalf.

My brother is in town, and he just wrapped up his 20 years of service in the US Navy so we're going a little extra special for him this holiday.

He don't know it yet, though :)

Thanks, everyone..

Wordsmith, the cartoon says all of that!

Beamish, please tell your brother congratulations and THANK YOU for us!! Is that the guy with the blog?
Have a fantastic time with the family.

If you don't mind me commenting - this one and the one following are so good.

Z,

Yeah, my brother was blogging, but doesn't anymore. Non-blogging seems to be a conservative fad now.

Anyway, he lifted his beer to everyone and said "you're welcome."

Glad you all like it..she packs a great message!

Beamish, SO glad your brother got the message!

Sue...I'm glad to have you here.

Have a good weekend, all...two more cartoons and a not-too-bad poem by yours truly coming up...
AND the third in the Frogburger series of 17 or so!!

Beamish,
From one veteran to another, thank you. We didn't always get our due so thanks.

Law and Order Teacher,

I'm not a veteran, but many in my family are.
