We are forgiving a $30,000,000 debt from Indonesia in exchange for a CONSERVATION PLAN.
Well, WE don't need the money, right? here's the LINK: We are NOT GOING TO GET THIRTY MILLION DOLLARS because......."Under the deal, Indonesia will pay the nearly $30 million into a trust over eight years instead of repaying it to the U.S. government. The trust will issue grants for critical forest conservation work in 13 forest areas in Sumatra.....
Conservation International, the U.S.-based conservancy group, helped organize the deal, and has contributed $1 million to help reduce the debt. "This is a huge boost for people and wildlife of Sumatra, and demonstrates a forward-looking policy on the part of the U.S. government," said Jatna Supriatna, vice president of Conservation International Indonesia."
How about helping US with OUR debt?
This ACT is from 1998....this is a Clinton Act, folks. We're just going to keep paying and keep paying for everything under and around the sun.........which is probably causing whatever climate change there is, by the way. Odd, the facts show that we're cooling off...no WONDER the leftwingers changed the title to Global Climate CHANGE.
And then, there's THIS ARTICLE / Hoosier Army Mom found....ISN'T GREEN GREAT, fellow freedom losers? (thanks for the tip,Mustang) (by the way, regarding the article, aren't you getting tired of having to hear the truth from other countries like England (The Guardian), Canada, and Germany, to only name a few? )

Very encouraging. It's a small amount of money in the grand scheme but it's good to see we can do something other than pay Israel hundreds of millions to bomb up Gaza.
thanks. Again, you miss the point.
No, I didn't. I think this is a good use of the funds.
Simple.
Actually, Ducky what you just wrote might be a gross exaggeration. We have seen no evidence that you think at all. But you did get the “simple” part correct.
I must be living in the Mirror Universe, Z.
Argh!
$30 million dollars could have bought the Tomahawk missiles that could taken care of Indonesian polluters once and for all.
;)
Obama on phone w/advisor:
"So, if we bankrupt USA, people will still blame Bush, right?"
Z, good post, and great new feature. Political insanity is a rich area to plumb. In fact, with the left in charge, it seems downright endless.
"Climate Change" is the vehicle to be used to justify redistribution of our wealth, around the world.
No doubt, while we decline, the third world will not rise in prosperity. Governments filled with corruption will see to that.
And in that, it seems likely right now that our thugocracy is well on it's way to lower itself to that common denominator.
Say, isn't that wildlife in Indonesia contributing to the vaunted carbon footprint? Horrors! Or is it only our meat sources which have flatulence problems? Just askin'.

Since Ducky never reads opposing views that might challenge his misinformation that he holds so dear... from the Telegraph...
"Dr Mitchell Taylor has been researching the status and management of polar bears in Canada and around the Arctic Circle for 30 years, as both an academic and a government employee. More than once since 2006 he has made headlines by insisting that polar bear numbers, far from decreasing, are much higher than they were 30 years ago. Of the 19 different bear populations, almost all are increasing or at optimum levels, only two have for local reasons modestly declined."
and..."Dr Taylor was told that his views running "counter to human-induced climate change are extremely unhelpful". His signing of the Manhattan Declaration – a statement by 500 scientists that the causes of climate change are not CO2 but natural, such as changes in the radiation of the sun and ocean currents – was "inconsistent with the position taken by the PBSG".
I guess it is clear, that when people oppose the view of the liberal hoaxers, they just don't invite him to the propaganda party in Copenhagen!
This is why I no longer affiliate myself with Democrats, they have chosen to ignore facts and live in the koolaid induced fantasies, and working people get to pay for it all.
Sorry Hoosier, that's a FAIL.
I firmly believe that rain forest preservation is a sound use of the money. You don't have to accept the entire global warming schtick (and I don't) to believe that conservation is sound policy.
Now I know that you evangelicals aren't putting up any canned goods in anticipation of the rapture but others still take the commandment to be good stewards of the planet seriously.
DUcky, I'm tired of it.
Stop the rapture stuff...this is one of the few things I delete over, so keep it up. NOBODY has mentioned rapture. MY BLOG is about being good stewards of this planet in ALL ways. I'm not doing any canning right now, trust me.
As for conservation; NO CONSERVATIVE doesn't appreciate conservation. When the leftwingers are willing to listen to the side that has facts and figures showing humans do NOT contribute to MOST of it (by a long shot), and when we stop hearing of the utterly stupid stuff like our letting thirty million dollars which could feed starving Americans go to saving trees (which SHOULD, by the way, be culled), then maybe conservatives will feel better about our world being in leftwinger hands right now.
Until then, stop doing your damndest to live down to mustang and beamish's opinions of you. Thanks.
The whole world has gone crazy, and the left is leading the way.
He didn't care where the car was headed, as long as he was the driver
*sigh* And the madness continues to escalate.
One thing you got right, Ducky. The global warming "crisis", is just what you said. Schtick.
"I firmly believe that rain forest preservation is a sound use of the money."
Now Ducky, pay attention. The greenhouse effect, which I guess is supposed to make us apoplectic, should be good for rainforests. Have you ever been in a greenhouse? It's very humid in there. A result of heat and moisture. Rainforests love humidity.
The trees and plants in the rainforest also need carbon dioxide to live, and so the plants can give off oxygen, which we need.
Some pollutant huh?
We emit co2 every time we exhale. There's probably some fruitcake trying to figure out how to kill off half the world's population to put a stop to all that exhaling.
Schtick? An expensive joke wouldn't you say? Not only in dollars but in loss of freedom, and why? To teach us all a lesson. To punish the most successful, free, prosperous country in history.
To take from us and give to others who will not learn what they've had centuries to learn.
But, it won't matter because you, on the left will "feel" less guilty. That is, until you realize you won't escape unscathed. Oh no. Like it or not we're all on the same boat, if we sink, so do you. And you'll have no one to blame but yourselves.

GREAT blog...
Ducky is wacko
The inmates are running the asylum. It's no longer hyperbole. It's the plain truth.
oh i like this new "feature" z!!... i read awhile ago that the house was putting in a bill a "donation" to the international monetary fund, and they were going to have to BORROW for the donation from china. your post reminded me of THAT insanity!!!
Hell, I've got 10 acres. Wonder if they'll forgive my taxes if I promise to plant a few trees?
Pat, I read info like that and feel like putting my fingers in my ears and screaming "yadda yadda yadda" so I can't really hear it.
Chuck.......it's worth a try. I'm PINING to know if it works! heh
OK... the TAX is based on "Carbon Emissions"... NOT THE CAUSE OF CLIMATE CHANGE. All it does is give our Congress more money to "pay off" special interests with. They won't spend a dime on any real causes... just research on products that ALGORE's fans like Jeffrey Immeldt can make money off of!!! It's about lining the pockets of one Party or the Other, not about what is going to help American Citizens or the environment. Losing jobs, jacking up prices of fuel and goods (truckers use fuel to bring goods to market... who do you think will be paying the difference?) Not one part of this issue has anything to do with "religion" Ducky. You need to stick with the topic and the facts for that matter.
And ditto on everything Z said!!
Frustrating!!!--

As long as it's taxpayers money, hussein o will continue to give millions upon millions of it away. He has no problems squandering trillions, so why not a few million for some rain forest conservation somewhere that probably won't happen.
I don't mind conservation -- but only at a time that I CAN AFFORD IT because, after all, I'M FRIGGIN' PAYING FOR IT.
Signed,
BZ The Taxpayer
