This is real 'new news', but his top campaign staff members are leaving.....en masse. Check THIS out. Some are saying it's because of THIS, but can't the guy DO THAT? Why can't someone take a break?
Do you think he'll stay in the race?

I don't think he really had a chance for the nod anyway. He might as well spend his $ keeping the 3rd wife happy!
I never saw him as a true contender. Let him spend his cash, as long as I am not footing the bill, have at it.
Yeah, how can we miss him if he won't go away.
Oh beamish, way to blame the GOP's lack of decent candidates on fictitious Obama vacations. Get a clue.
One might suspect that Newt's staff is falling away because no matter what they decide on policy and strategy...his mouth
operates on a different frequency than his brain...
dunno.
Newt can never be president. There was a time when he could have been, but no more.
In the mean time, liberals think Weiner should be able to conduct himself in inappropriate ways, but if Gingrich, who holds no political office, does nothing but spend his own money, it is somehow a bad thing.
Makes perfect liberal/progressive sense...no?
Hey Joe, the only thing liberals think about Gingrich is that he is a sleaze and his new wife looks like The Joker.
If he stays in or leaves, nobody cares. The only loss is the entertainment value watching the Tea Party tear down the field.
Notice how Bachmann and Palin are fixing for a cat fight lately? What's that about?
Ah, Ducky. What a maroon.
As far as Newt goes... Good riddance to bad rubbish.
It Gingrich was as smart as he thinks he is, he would never have entered the presidential arena in the first place. He's no conservative.
I just would like to see someone half decent running! So far, the prospects suck, except for Herman Cain.

Joe, can you name one of Weiner's liberal colleagues who have condoned his conduct? in fact, several have asked him to resign. Unless Newt's campaign manager and top staffers are liberals, they're the ones who quit because Newt's cruise was a "bad thing", what in the world are you talking about?
Newt's campaign staff quits and somehow it's liberal/progressives fault. Makes perfect conservative/regressive sense..yes?
Ducky,
If you want to be here, you know exactly what flies and what doesn't and what you're doing now doesn't.
Argue like a man. I'll just continue to delete if you can't stop the name calling, lies and ridiculous innuendo.
to all:
Re NEWT; I think the only thing we learned about his possible candidacy was that his ego might be as big as Obama's. Who could have thought that, with Newt's background, anybody'd seriously consider him?
Yes, he's VERY bright and knows history like nobody I know, but .... no way.
Ducky, by the way, Calista DOES look like THE JOKER! I've always wondered who it was she reminded me of... :-)
re the cruise; so WHAT? Doesn't his staff, more than anybody, know how hard these people WORK? And the cruise minimum was $2999 a person or something? I'm sure he didn't pay minimum, he probably had a stateroom, etc., but that's not a luxury cruise compared to the really good ones like the CRYSTAL CRUISES, etc...
Let the guy go and rest for pete's sake. I thought the staff's timing stank, too, by the way....but we don't have the details, of course. Maybe they warned him.
Major: It is sad to have worn a uniform for people who hate this country and take advantage of everything there is to take advantage of here.
As I said on my Memorial Day post; I'm quite sure our soldiers didn't die for people to shun the flag or diss so dismissively a whole other political party like the left/media do now to the Republicans. I'm sure nobody fought for backdoor deals between journalists and SOros $$$ so that the wool covers most of America's eyes.
No, you fought for freedom, you fought for freedom of speech, but not for freedom to denigrate THIS COUNTRY. NO FREAKIN' way.
Craig, do you know that the Weiner story was known a week before we heard it? And could you name anybody on the left who demanded his resignation at the time, or now?
thanks.
As for Joe's remark; there is a double standard and it would make perfect liberal sense to nail Newt for this while they don't ask for Weiner's resignation, but no...the left did not challenge Newt's trip, his staff did.
Major said...
Ducky...face it...you're a sick, disgusting, perverted creep of a little man who cannot debate without character assassination.
Major, Thank you for your service and I mean it. A couple posts ago, you wrote this to me,
Craig...are you out of your fucking mind?
Krist....you're a complete asshole without any credibility and you still cast arrows at the truth even when it's in your stupid, ignorant puss....so much for libbie, "progressive"morals you douche.
My character survived but you certainly could be charged with attempted character assassination. And, I defend your right to do it.
Craig, do you know that the Weiner story was known a week before we heard it?
I don't doubt some knew the story was out there but I don't know if anyone knew if it were true. It's human nature to want to believe someone on your side but when the facts came out, under the bus for him, which is where he belongs. I don't know if anyone knew before but I doubt it. I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong.
I think he's a scumbag. Scumbags come in all political ideologies. My comment to you the other day was not to defend Dems but to refute the claim that Repubs resign when they caught. Some do, some don't. I don't have much time lately to respond to you and my fans here, I know that saddens you, but when I get time I will defend my "Breitbart is a discredited hack" statement. Maybe I'll start a blog! Would you read it?
Oh beamish, way to blame the GOP's lack of decent candidates on fictitious Obama vacations. Get a clue.
Which one of Obama's vacations was fictitious?
Is English your second language?
And could you name anybody on the left who demanded his resignation at the time, or now?
thanks.
Yes
You're welcome.
Craig...I'll just delete. I didn't build this blog to have liberals spew, trust me...
I know many liberal blogs don't allow conservative commenters, but I do...still, there has to be a limit and I've about reached it :-)
Andrew's family and I are very good friends and I know him and things you don't know.
Start a blog; don't come here with that because I'll just delete. Thanks!
Oops! Craig...that's June 8 (June 8 was yesterday).
He admitted this...Monday? More and more women are coming out...finally, Dems are asking for resignation! YAHOOOO!
I heard today that at least half his constituency think he should stay!
You've got to hand it to those who'd think he represents them with dignity and honor in our House of Representatives and should stay, huh?
WOW
Z, it does not look good for Newt's campaign.
But Joe, what liberals have you heard that are saying his actions were honorable?
Which liberals can you cite that are condoning his behavior?
It should be noted that even Ed Schultz, one of the most liberal MSNBC commenters has called for his resignation as have others in the house democratic leadership team.
Perhaps you might ask why the House leadership team, except for Cantor has been so silent. Could it be because they did not call for Rep Vitter to resign when he admitted to breaking the law and hiring prostitutes?
This is why it is so hard to get stuff done politically and to find consensus.
Z, gone are the days of Tip O'Niell, Sen Moynihan, Sen Howard Baker, and even Goldwater.
Todays crop of politicians, from both parties, are more interested in winning, that doing the hard work together to move America forward.
And unfortunately, we are all to happy to play along...
Dave, first, Vitter's situation came up 7 years later; He'd apologized to his staff, his wife, his God....then it came out..7 yrs LATER. What are the Reps going to do, ask him to resign for something he'd done 7 years previous and had repented for and never repeated, as far as anybody knows?
Weiner's situation was known 1 1/2 wks ago......he apologized Monday...some Dems asked for resignation Wednesday... amazing. More and more women are coming out and I'm astonished that more than half his constituents don't think he should quit.
Republicans do quit pretty quickly, that's a given...
And imagine Bill Clinton saying Weiner's disappointed him? WOW. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black? (or can I say black here?)
You said "Todays crop of politicians, from both parties, are more interested in winning, that doing the hard work together to move America forward."
That's for sure.
Joe misspoke about the Gingrich thing...also, I got this story before it was on Google, so nobody knew the facts....but every leftist here jumped on him. Let it go. He knows as well as we do it was the Republican staff who quit; so he goofed....but, boy, you have to jump on him.
Z, what part of Joe's statement was incorrect? I wasn't jumping on him, just asking him on what basis he believes Liberals think Mr. Weiner should be able to behave as he pleases?
Newt is a member of the Old GOP.
And a member of a conglomeration for which I will NEVER VOTE AGAIN.
Newt and people like him have, by "moderation," decided to link hands across the aisles which, in truth, means that the GOP and Conservatism gets shunted aside because Leftist values predominate.
Newt hasn't taken, for me, a truly Conservative stand. His policy on, for example, the environment, is too much incapable.
Yes, I readily acknowledge that he co-writes some fine books, and he makes a fine commentator on various TV shows.
But his active time in politics?
DEAD. Move ON, Newt. I have NO use for your conciliatory ways these days.
Whilst stances on the Left get more firm, MY stance on the Right becomes ever MORE firm.
And you simply do NOT understand that.
Go away. You are SO yesterday's news.
BZ
It wasn't the cruise, it was his undisciplined motormouth and pompous pontificating.
Z: in terms of Leftists, I simply wish that some of them, a miniscule proportion of them, could simply come aboard and make their positions known, backed with LINKS and URLs, to support their arguments, and then NOT have taken their arguments "personal" or with S or F or various bad words, and then let their arguments stand in the ozone for examination and rebuttal.
But no.
BZ
Silverfiddle,
I'm sure it became difficult for Gingrich's campaign staff to effectively communicate positions that Gingrich isn't even sure he has.
Dave, I wasn't addressing you.
Joe was mistaken when he said liberals condemned Newt....
BZ...he's a windbag...but a really smart one.
and, to be fair, we have some conservatives here using language that's more suspect than anybody here on the left's :-)
Silver..ya, there was talk that his staff didn't like that he went on a cruise...he should have been addressing the campaign, etc.
BZ, are you really willing to not vote for anybody you don't think's conservative enough, thereby handing Obama another four years to ruin this country...again?
Craig: Actually, I was referencing the many, many comments by liberals on many, many blogs I have read who maintained that Weiner's private life had nothing to do with his job in DC.
I disagree with that, because it leaves me unable to know to a certitude the subjects on which I can trust him and the subjects on which I cannot trust him.
Maybe you could provide me with the list.
In the mean time, Gingrich is spending his own money to take a cruise. I see nothing wrong with that.
If he doesn't want to spend time on a presidential bid, I think that's OK. I'm not going to spend any time on one either.
(If nominated I will not run. If elected, I will not serve.)
If his aides leave him...well, so be it.
Their leaving does not evidence any evil on his part.
That is not to say that there could not be some, just that we have neither accusations nor evidence of any at this time.
BZ,

This presumes leftists are actually physically capable of independent, self-initiated rational thought. You might as well be wishing to see four-sided triangles or picante-flavored dry cleaning.
The term "intelligent leftist" doesn't even have a real-world meaning.
Gingrich has been a no-go from the day he announced his run for the White House.
If he doesn't want to spend time on a presidential bid, I think that's OK. I'm not going to spend any time on one either.
I'm Okay with Newt announcing a run for Pres. and taking a cruise 2 weeks later, too. It's his staff who had trouble with it.
(If nominated I will not run. If elected, I will not serve.)
I'm starting a 'Draft Joe' website.
If his aides leave him...well, so be it.
Agreed
Their leaving does not evidence any evil on his part.
That is not to say that there could not be some, just that we have neither accusations nor evidence of any at this time.
Agreed. Who called it evil? It may be evidence that Newt isn't really serious about running. The people who abandoned him (Republicans) seem to think so. I think it's curious that you would drag liberals/progressives into Newt's internal campaign meltdown.
It's just a reflex with some of ya.
Craig, I was wondering how many times it'll take before you read enough of the comments to see that Joe misspoke and that's been discussed? As I said earlier, I got this news before the networks and Google did, and so nobody knew for sure what happened and he gave it a shot that was totally viable, considering the leftwing drumbeat of insults to anything Republican.
Odd that you'd still harp on it...
I guess it's "just a reflex with some of ya?"
Craig, I was wondering how many times it'll take before you read enough of the comments to see that Joe misspoke and that's been discussed?
Z, Joe addressed me personally AFTER you said he misspoke. He didn't say he misspoke. He continued to defend his comments. Don't you think it's fair for me to respond to a comment directed at me?
Newt's ego and overloaded mouth have always kept him in hot water so what is new. Most of the folks in Georgia who supported him did so only as a native son type candidate. As of today, Herman Cain has more support than Newt has or had.
Cain leads the 2012 GOP pack in Georgia with 26 percent of the vote. Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, in second place, has 13 percent support. Gingrich is in third place with 12 percent.
Look for the winning ticket of Cain-Bachmann soon. It will drive the Leftist crazy.
Say good by Newt and go on another cruise, who cares as long as you stay out of politics period. You are no conservative!
No, Craig....
Joe is clearly defending only the comment about the left's hesitance to condemn Weiner. You questioned what looked to be his saying the left had condemned Newt's cruise, which they had not.
Ticker....they're already insulting Cain over the type of toppings his company puts on pizza; I saw it last night. And they'll slam him for inexperience while Obama had far less experience in anything in the business world.. And neither have foreign experience.
SHould be interesting. Obama's supporters were saying he'd hire experienced people; let's see if the media affords Cain the same leeway. I wouldn't hold my breath.
Look for the winning ticket of Cain-Bachmann soon. It will drive the Leftist crazy.
Gah!
If I go to the plasma bank twice a week, at $25 a pop I can raise a little over $3000 for Obama if I start now...
I don't care how Newt spends his money. I'm more concerned about how Obama spends MY money.
so Beamish, you support Obama over Cain and Bachmann? Really?
Then maybe you're not quite understanding what he's already done?
You may have to open your own blog again for that, truly.
Cube, me, too.
Z,
so Beamish, you support Obama over Cain and Bachmann? Really?
Obama is my only chance to be a part of the quick death. A slow and agonizing death with Diet Obama would be unbearable.
I'm not going to dignify weighing in on Bachmann as a serious candidate because my brain just doesn't work that way.
But Herman Cain wants to prolong recession / depression cycles by going back on the gold standard. That's weapons grade stupid.
At least by giving blood to raise money for Obama in the event the Tea Party skews the GOP primaries in favor of one of their stable of nutlogs (Ron Paul, Donald Trump, Herman Cain) I will feel like I at least bled out before America died.
I'm torn between the moral victory of staying home or the defiant leap into the abyss with my eyes wide open.
I won't be voting for Obama because I like him. I'll be voting for Obama IF there is no conservative alternative.
My plans to bleed for Obama are bitter sarcasm, I assure you. I figure the day I vote for a Democrat, they world will end, so I'm sorta counting on that.
We may have to talk via email about this...my blog's dedicated to not giving the leftwingers here fodder and to trying to get the very best ANYBODY BUT OBAMA.
I don't believe you've ever responded when asked who you could support?
Beamish voting for Obama in 2012? Maybe that's what those Mayan calendars were pointing to.
big fat tio mike
Good one, Mike!
Ya..imagine? This is what got us Obama in the first place :-(
"I'll show those CONSERVATIVES!"
Ya, they sure showed us AND this poor country.
Z: I'm not committing.
I'm waiting to see how things shake out. It is WAY too early.
BZ
I don't believe you've ever responded when asked who you could support?
Tim Pawlenty and Rick Santorum are my early favorites.
Granted, they're "milquetoast" compared to memorials of Paul Revere warning the British that they're coming and posting dick pictures on the internet, but I'm sure as time progresses the media will finally pay attention to candidates actually running for President.
Beamish voting for Obama in 2012? Maybe that's what those Mayan calendars were pointing to.
You betcha.
Hope he goes, just another RINO.
