Sunday Faith Blog

"The Lord foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance...... ......No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.....But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine." from Psalm 33, my favorite. Especially now.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Thanks Z, i hope those who are being persecuted for their Christian faith all over this world remember those words and hold on to them, for they are being delivered to death and suffering.

So many of the Psalms offer us comfort from the Lord.

I don't know which Psalm is my favorite, but I'm partial to Psalm 69.

The Merry Widow said...

Psalm 91 is my favorite;
[1] He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
[2] I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
[3] Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
[4] He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
[5] Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
[6] Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
[7] A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
[8] Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
[9] Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
[10] There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
[11] For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
[12] They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
[13] Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
[14] Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
[15] He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
[16] With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

It is a great comfort in these times!
G*D bless and MARANATHA!

OFF TOPIC: The French news is saying Mr. Obama brought a FOOD TASTER with him last night at a French restaurant he went into. The chefs are furious, the media's outraged.

I have mixed feelings about it.....I mean, a president's got more reason to worry than you or I do about being poisoned in a restaurant, but isn't this a little weird?

Didn't the kings of olden days have TASTERS? The Obama ladies aren't going home with him, they have a separate plane taking them back Monday so they can have "more time to see the sights and shop".. instead of Sunday when he's leaving and they didn't accompany him, again, to the Muslim country. Mr. Z says it stinks that a whole different expensive plane had to come with them, I say it's the prerogative of a president and there ARE some luxuries afforded to the First Family. Mr. Z says the cost is nuts and not a good sign in times like these.

What do you say?

Here's what I think, Z. BO is appearing more and more "kingly" by the day. Food taster? Who the hell does he think he is King Bonaparte?

I came across this little factoid about the name Baraq (i.e. Barack) which I found quite interesting. Just another reason to think he may have been selected to become King of America?

" Barack (Baraq) is the name of the winged horse that Muhammad claimed to have flown up to heaven to have negotiations with Allah. Baraq/Barack is a greatly revered Muslim name, same as is Hussein. An airline in Libya is named Baraq after the flying horse fable. "

HI, Waylon..yes, it really is a 'who does he think he is?' moment, but on the other hand, let's face it, people COULD want to harm an American president.

I'd like to know if other presidents have used this. The French media's saying the White House isn't discussing it..........I HOPE SO MUCH that Robert Gibbs gets asked that question at the press conf tomorrow! Might email Richard Miniter at the Wash Times to give them this tidbit IF they have a regular journalist at those conferences!

Maybe The Obama realizes that he is not so popular with a huge segment of the world. Food tasters are a wise precaution at times but other times they are tasteless (no pun intended.)

FrogBurger said...

So he would have someone be poisoned instead of him? I guess yes we are back to aristocracy. That's the kind of aristocracy the left doesn't mind. Anti-bourgeois aristocrats as I put it in my Q/As.

If people don't get what the left is about with this, then I don't know what they need to be shown.

By the way, the French media reported yesterday that there are differences on foreign policy with France. Sarkozy is not very happy with Obama about IRan.

Only one thing comes to my mind. Lycaon. He deserves a meal served from the remains of his human victims. The flood is coming.

Frogburger, does the Fr media know what the differences are?
Maybe even France is tired of appeasement?

Today on CNN, I heard Gloria Borchers say "N Korea wasn't QUITE at the AXIS OF EVIL point" giggle giggle.
You can't make this stuff up!

Titus......you look very familiar.

Or maybe he wanted to make sure everything was organic... Or he wanted to ensure the quality of the arugula in the salad.

Happy Sunday, everybody!

Re: the off-topic topic: I don't know whether Obama realizes that he is on a business trip on behalf of the people of the U.S. As such, he should have accepted the invitation by the French President (may be he didn't, because he clearly could not have taken a "taster" with him to that dinner).

A propos taster: That is truly an affront of the first order. I have never heard of such misstep by other officials. If he wants to be like everybody else, he should behave like everybody else, i.e. without taster.

If he doesn't trust the food in Parisian (or any other) restaurants, he shouldn't go there. Simple. We are not in the middle ages anymore. But history is not his forte - we have found that out in the meantime.

Summary: The whole ME/EU trip of Obama was a disaster - that is the only way to describe it. He made a fool of himself and, what is worse, of the U.S., every step of the way. And that is provable.

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance." That is exactly why the Jewish people have survived and will continue to survive regardless of what the rest of the world throws at them. The Athiests in this country should sit up and take notice!

I love the picture, Mr. and Mrs. Z. Beautiful!

I also read your comment about Obama using a food taster. LOL! Hon, he absolutely believes he is a King!

Z said...

Just got back from church..spoke with a bunch of friends...not one of them had heard about the food taster.
I wrote to the head of the editorial page at the Wash. Times...let's hope he hadn't heard, too, and is as amazed as France is. Maybe, again, the Right has to get the truth out.

I'm hoping the secret service or somebody high up demanded this and it isn't all about THE ONE's ego or fears....but, then, how do you pick the one to DIE were it poisoned??

Let's see, Obama's own insignia, golden columns, his President-elect plane with his insignia, a podium emblazened with a seal, and saying, "office of the President -elect". Now, a food taster. Can a crown and scepter be far behind?

Oh, and we can't forget a Court Jester! I wonder who would fill that bill?

Oh of course Z, Biden! A built in Court Jester.

I sure missed that one. How I could is beyond me, he's the perfect choice, and out there getting laughs as if that's his job.

What a beautiful, restful scene in that picture you posted!

I wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog to inquire about dear ol' mom. Her biopsy isn't until June 16th. But her back is healing nicely. She is once again doing some of the things she ceased to do because of pain, but now is at 'em again.

The Word (Jesus) of the LORD (The Father) the Breath (Holy Spirit) of His mouth!! So wonderful! Jesus Christ our wonderful Savior, is as clearly seen in the Psalms as He is in the Gospels of the NT! Psalm 22, Psalm 69 (already mentioned) Psalm 110 among many many others picture & prophesy His 1st & second advents powerfully! Oh if we just had the time & space to go into it!
