We've got this and this, and so much more. So, the deal is........what did the Bush CIA have to gain with these programs but the gain of keeping us safe? Is a congressional hearing in public that's being suggested by leftwingers going to help America move forward and continue to protect herself? Will our CIA continue to attract good people when they read things like this? Do leftwingers have anything better to DO right now than to drudge up information like this and expose it to the world? Does any leftwinger REALLY believe there are enemies around the world seeing this and saying to themselves "Gee, aren't those Americans super guys? They're SO TRANSPARENT.....they're slamming the agency that's responsible for keeping them safe from us and, you know, it might be a great idea if WE stop being bad guys and stop our covert terror programs, too"? YA THINK?z

The politicians can't see past the next election and their pocketbooks, but they are being advised and harangued by people who want to see this nation destroyed.
there is plenty that they should be doing and plenty that they are actually doing. these circuses are created in order to divert the public's attention from all that they are doing that they shouldn't be doing. boy, what an awkward sentence, huh? but the sentiment is accurate...
and the media is playing right along with it. nearly ALL of their talking points about gwb are actually true about obama - much more so than about gwb - but you don't hear those being bandied about any more, do you? it just proves the left didn't give a rat's patuti about transparency and consolidated executive power - it's just that they didn't want in the hands of someone who wasn't theirs...

I think the first one is symtomatic of the Obama "philosophy." Soon you have to really do something, not just talk about it and that is where the rub is. BO's feeling the heat from all sides. He can no longer get away with non-specific platitudes. Governing is tough and we'll see if he can take the heat.
Shoprat, sadly, I believe you're right. Until we get politicians who REALLY care about the Constitution and this country, how can we succeed?

L&0..maybe Americans aren't AS uninvolved and oblivious as we think; the numbers are going down and it's not the popularity numbers but the numbers showing JOB PERFORMANCE...not good numbers for only 6 months into this thing AND we have to remember THE MEDIA'S TOTALLY IN WITH HIM, SO AMERICANS ARE SEEING PAST IT..GOOD STUFF.

The stupid ones out there might think that Z, and there's a fair number of them on the left. However the hardcore element among them know that no such thing will happen, but that's not the point, their goal is to bring down America, in any way possible.
