The EMPIRE STATE BUILDING celebrating COMMUNISM IN CHINA?

GET A LOAD OF THIS: Have you heard that the Empire State Building will be bathed in yellow and red lights to celebrate the 60th year of Communism in China? Here's the piece from Agence France Presse (I Googled and could only find two articles beyond the one I published below with the words I put in and both are from conservative sites: FreeRepublic and Lucianne. Actually, I only FOUND the AFP piece THROUGH the link at FreeRepublic.) Here's the article:

Empire State Building turns red-yellow for China's 60th (AFP)

NEW YORK — New York's iconic Empire State Building will light up red and yellow Wednesday in honor of the 60th anniversary of communist China.

The Chinese consul, Peng Keyu, and other officials will take part in the lighting ceremony which will bathe the skyscraper in the colors of the People's Republic until Thursday, Empire State Building representatives said in a statement.

The upper sections of the building are regularly illuminated to mark special occasions, ranging from all blue to mark "Old Blue Eyes" Frank Sinatra's death in 1998 to green for the annual Saint Patrick's Day.

Just last week the tower turned bright red.

However, that was not to mark some other communist achievement, but the 70th anniversary of the film "The Wizard of Oz" in which Dorothy wears ruby slippers rather than the silver of the original L. Frank Baum novel.

I guess that the point is we honor Sinatra and St Patrick's Day and The Wizard of Oz with color..........why NOT COMMUNIST CHINA!? Is that YOUR take, too?
ARE WE NUTS?

We belong to them now so that's what we're going to get.

Scary times. And very sad.

And then Bernanke says we need to lend more to consumers...

FB..it's incredible, isn't it.

I honestly am hoping this is SATIRE. That the Leftist media doesn't seem to have picked it up as a spoof, though, tends to make me believe it's probably true.

Seeing that the country elected a Mao wannabee as president, maybe we have gone nuts. It takes a while to go from asleep, to a dawning consciousness, to grogginess, to fully awake. Our country is at the groggy point and God help Obama when the country fully wakes up.

Z said...

but, Shoprat, what CAN we do? How can we STOP seeing our country go so far down the tubes with SUCH borrowing, SUCH spending, such non transparency and hiding and having communists and socialists and nuts who think animals need lawyers, and letting American kids replace GOD with OBAMA in chants and songs and NOT SAYING "THIS MUST STOP"....etc etc..and WORSE, so much worse?

ALL we can do is vote the libs out in 2010.....and DELUGE the congress with emails...that's ALL, right? WHAT ELSE?

Check THIS OUT:

Holland is passing a law.
Nobody wearing a full burkha can collect unemployment insurance.
Their reasoning is, if you lost your job because you were hiding your face, you can't get unemployment. Simple; you don't do what you've been asked, that's that.

The next step they're discussing is NO BURKAS IN HOLLAND AT ALL.

I saw this earlier this morning. It's not that big a deal.

But hey, lost and unregistered cargo vessels with Iranian Shahab-3 missiles stored inside, waiting for overhead intel satellites to clear the skies and then launching said missiles from said cargo vessels less than 100 miles from our eastern coast worries me ten times more than this.

I will take a "wait and see" attitude.

WHEN and on WHAT day is this supposed to happen?

Do we have persons in place to document this act?

And WHAT is the justification for this act?

New Yorkers are remarkably BLUNT. Do we have a "connect" with any of them regarding this issue?

Is this truthful? Will it occur? Has it occurred?

We need the FACTS.

The Empire State Building's publicists inform us -- like they're proud of it! -- that tomorrow ESB will glow red and yellow to honor the 60th Anniversary of the People's Republic of China. At 10 a.m. members of the Consul General of the People's Republic, including Consul General Peng Keyu, will "flip the light switch on a scale model of the Empire State Building," and either America will blow up or the lights will go on.

And New York will be renamed West Beijing for a day to reflect the economic realities of our times. The good news is Times Square won’t be called Tiananmen Square, and the Empire State goes blue and white for the 125th Anniversary of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts on October 2 (which could be a conspiracy to cool the temperature of hot-blooded rightwingers).

This is absolutely sickening. Yes, Steve, there are things which are a more immediate threat...But we ignore these others - which seem irritating & fairly benign in the short run - to our ultimate long-term peril.

I do not believe that our President has the United States of America's best interests at heart. We absolutely need to speak out on EVERYTHING he is doing to dismantle our Republic. Thank you for doing so, Z.

Or maybe z would prefer that we deal with China by putting some nukes in Taiwan. Get our own little "Cuban missile crisis" going so we can show everyone how moy mucho macho we are.

Nothing to see here folks, move along.

And the Lefties here at geeez love the idea of Americans celebrating Communism in China and we're supposed to be surprised and realize we just don't have a clue. MY goodness. Well, at least they exhibited some transparency! Thanks, guys!

Ducky, Congratulations! After the way Cuba's treated its people (come talk to our neighbors some time, Ducky...EDUCATE yourself to the truth, not Michael Moore's take on it...talk to Gloria Estefan or Andy Garcia, who KNOW from experience, don't just take the info from Leftist pro Castro news!). People aren't still trying to escape because they live in a place that's people-friendly.

I see...with Ducky, it's either BOMB CHINA or be happy about AMERICANS celebrating their COMMUNISM. There's never in between with him.

I'm FINALLY starting to get that even YOU can't wrap your brains around this idiocy (there might be SOME Pro American sentiment in there somewhere) and so you have to grab at silly straws....well, that's kind of good to know.

Ducky,
Did you think of that lame comeback all by yourself, or did you get a few friends to help? I sit here reading Z's blog, and all you add to the proceedings is idiocy. I loath and despise your weak-kneed, spineless thoughts and ideas. It is people like you that are bringing this nation to its knees. I tell you now, I will die on my feet before I beg on my knees. I know these are sentiments that a sellout such as yourself can not deal with, so you will just have to take my word for it. As far as my proposed gift to the ChiComms, due to the state of SovUnion's early warning detection system, they wouldn't know that a planet fell on them let alone a nuke, or who threw it. As for China, who cares what they know. If you do it correctly, it won't matter in the least. All of that is predicated on the assumption that we use land based ICBM's. If it were to be a submarine launch, then there is anyone of several nations it could be, including the Red Chinese themselves. Russia would also be a good candidate. Despite being "Fraternal Socialist Allies," They have not really ever gotten along. Too many border skirmishes and other forms of bad blood. So before you go off thinking you know jack-shit, and try to insult the intelligence of others, perhaps you should take some time to learn a bit about world events and history. I know that such is not taught in the state run indoctrination facilities (colleges), but that does not mean you can't get off your lazy ass a read a history book once in a while. Who knows, you might actually learn something but I doubt it. As for "hoi-polloi", I take that as a compliment. You obviously are to stupid to bother to actually find out what a word means rather than use it in an inappropriate setting, probably because you heard one of your libtard masters use it in a speech once. It means "everyman" you stupid douche. So saying that my opinions are so widespread is a good thing from my point of view. By the way careful when you drink the Kool-Aid,if you accidently ingested the Jonestown Kooler on accident, we will lose all the laughs your ignorance brings us on such a regular basis.

Z,
Thank You.

Ducky,
I am aware of the common usage of Hoi polloi in English. I dislike colloquialism. While language should grow and live, it should not change with the whims of the day. One should use the correct words, or shut their gob. I try, sometimes desperately I admit, to use the correct words, in their correct context. One thing you libs, and all of our so called civil servants, forget is that this nation was built by and for the rabble, commoners, or the masses, depending on your personal preference of word choice. Kudos to you for cracking a history book. They are often a slog. I have read "The Arms of Krupp" on two separate occasions, and both times it took about a month to slog through. On a non-partisan note, history is exciting, why do history authors seem to be unable, by and large, to bring that out. They are almost uniformly dry and boring.

Personally I VERy rarely delte a post due to my belief in the sacredness in The Constitution in general, and free speech in particular. I do however support Z's right and decision to delete Ducky's post. I look at a blog the same way as I look at their home, hence my apology for swearing in Z's house. I try to maintain the same decorum while commenting as I would as if I where a guest in the authors home, not always successfully. For those who wish to know what I was referring to, Hoi polloi was used in this case in its pejorative English sense. For those who are interested, it can be found on Wikipedia. I disagree, somewhat with the assertions that Ducky's reading selection is not relevant. Agreed it is not the MOST relevant to modern issues and problems, but all history has a relevance that transcends the issues du jour. Our collective past contains great insight into our present and our future. There is always a lesson to be learned, and often applied to most problems.

Hot stuff. Isn't this special. Man, I can't remember the country being this whacked out even in the 60's.

"Newsmax columnist John Perry wrote Tuesday that President Obama "is inviting" a military coup" and that it might not be such a bad thing: "Imagine a bloodless coup to restore and defend the Constitution through an interim administration that would do the serious business of governing and defending the nation. Skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars." (Newsmax appears to have taken the column down.)

On the same day conservative talk-radio host Jim Quinn directly addressed U.S. troops, telling them that Obama is "gonna get you killed."

Media Matters points out that the appeals to the military follow a wave of rhetoric from the right suggesting that civilian violence against the government might be justified. Chuck Norris has asked if people are ready for "a second American Revolution." RedState's Erick Erickson has asked, "At what point do the people ... march down to their state legislator's house, pull him outside, and beat him to a bloody pulp?" Radio host Michael Savage declared recently that "we're going to have a revolution in this country."

Right Wing Extreme said...

Ducky,
The thought of the military staging a coup on it's own is frightening. History has shown that military rulers often, almost always, make poor rulers. Far less frightening is the thought of a civilian leader beginning a revolution with the aid of the military. I do agree, sadly, that another armed revolution seems to be the course we are hurtling down. It might be a good thing, but I for one am not keen on the idea of taking up arms against my leftist brothers, be they ever so wrong headed. The best case scenario is if those in government realize they are there to represent the people, not for their own self aggrandizement. Hands up all who think that will suddenly happen .............. thought so.

Z said...

Right Wing....I'm not sure I've ever enjoyed and appreciated a comment here quite so much.
I'm with you...thanks a million.
Sadly, NO hand up here.

Imagine Obama never speaking out against "mmm BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA" IMagine him not putting a stop to that, nationwide.......
"self-aggrandizement" is the lay of the WHITE HOUSE land these days..

No, I fear Sarkozy was right...Obama's ego rules everything and prevents him from learning. He's far too indoctrinated for hope..for himself, or for US.

Still, REAL HOPE is always there.

"On the same day conservative talk-radio host Jim Quinn directly addressed U.S. troops, telling them that Obama is "gonna get you killed."

Well he already has gotten troops killed by changing the RoE, his lack of engagement and attention on the issue and his general lack of understanding of military issues. Why do you find it objectionable to mention that that trend might continue?
