Oktoberfest has started in Munich
Anybody want to go? :-) (Shameless pandering to my male readers here, I know!)
If you read THIS, you'll really NEED A BEER. (Yahoo doesn't have this story yet Sunday night while I type this, of course...thank goodness for The Guardian, which seems to always scoop America on stories the American media'd rather hide)

Pass me a cold one please..
Pretty women holding out a beer, how could you think this is pandering to men?
I unfortunately have never been to Germany but I did get kicked out of the beer tent of the Oktoberfest in Frankenmuth, MI when I was considerably younger, does that count?
Tip: when they say stop dancing on the tables at the Oktoberfest in Frankenmuth, MI, they mean it.
Went to the Oktoberfest in Stuttgart last year & had a great time. So many beer tents, so little time...
The beer was fantastic!
But the best beer was in two places - The Hofbrauhouse in Munich, and Calwer-Ecks in Stuttgart has a wonderful pilsner.
If I wear one of those outfits and drink a few beers I bet I'll be a happy camper. Call the airline, I need a ticket. BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'm ignoring Chuck's comments by the way.
Sounds linke fun, hubby and I went back in 1987, I actually got a drink from the Paulaner wagon as it was making it's way along the Parade route. The crush of the crowd as we entered the BeerGardens back then was unlike anything I had ever experienced. Maybe next year
He's finally getting smart about reducing the bloated defense budget. Cheers !
Make mine a Samuel Smith Pale Museum Ale. I'm a real hops junky.
I'll have one of what the girl in the orange dress is having.
Right is Right...it'd be a pleasure!
Chuck...Yes, that does count :-)
Brenda Jean: If you wear one of those outfits and drink a few beers, I'll bet CHUCK will be an even happier camper!! heh heh!
Tom...GREAT that you got to Stuttgart's Oktoberfest! The beer IS good, and I'm not even a beer drinker!
Beamish, you'd really be amazed at the ENORMITY of Oktoberfest...I'm talking tens of thousands in EACH huge tent..it's unbelievable. Lots of pretty freuleins around, too!
I spent seven years in Germany. Octoberfest is truly awesome and there's nowhere that I know of where the beer is as good. When we returned to the States the beer - all of it - tasted watered down, even the stuff imported from Germany. The only problem is that their beer is so fattening! :)
Now where did I put my glockenspiel? Somewhere in Munich, there's got to be an Umpah band that needs a glockenspiel player...
President BO is intent on making it easier for those who would do us harm to do so.
And reducing our arsenal will not make a scratch, let alone a dent, in our defense budget.
Zee what de boys in ze back room will have und tell zem I'm having de same.
I attended Oktoberfest in Munich back in 1986 only to face massive debauchery, public drunkeness and other things I cannot mention in a public forum.
My first wife and I divorced anyway four years later, so nothing lost there.
Z-There used to be an October fest south of us...below LAX -It's closer :-)
Ahh Frankenmuth,MI-one of my favorite places--wonder if it's the same as 30 years ago?
Steve, debauchery is very rare and, sadly, usually caused by over drunken foreigners at their first Oktoberfest!
We should all be lucky enough to be in Munich for only an hour! It's a marvelous place to live...even tho I'm not big on Oktoberfest cuz i hate crowds..MAN are those tents FULL.
Christian..that's Alpine Village..the food is GREAT.
Beamish...I thought it was just KNEES!? apparently not!! :-)
"He's finally getting smart about reducing the bloated defense budget. Cheers !"
The defense budget is the one area that benefits everyone and keeps us safe. Let me amend that. KEPT us safe.
Ducky, what a hypocrite you are. You've already demonstrated here every day, your lack of concern for the budget. Why am I not surprised.
I guess you're OK with ACORN getting 8.5 billion dollars huh? Cash for clunkers which cost three times the amount they alotted? Political payback for unions?
The defense budget is a drop in the bucket compared with the trillions your team is loading, and attempting to load on the American people.
The action Obama is taking is less about the budget, than it is about weakening our defenses. I have come to the conclusion you far left people suffer from some sort of psychosis.
You are the most self destructive, self loathing bunch of suicidal maniacs outside the walls of an asylum.
The joke is you think you're an enlightened thinker.
Finally, Obama isn't getting smart about anything. He's just a mouthpiece. You know it and I know it.
Pris
Z,
I think I told you last year that St. Louis has a huge Oktoberfest (being originally a French city, it's rather natural that Germans have taken over).
And, Z...
Safety orange is my favorite color.
;)
PRIS! you should read the GERMAN PRESS on Obama these days...lib and con.......absolutely going nuts with his stupid policies. They just can't get over it.
Finally, even our German friends who bought the media's adoration (from here, they read our press on line) are "GETTING IT"...
Now, if only all Americans would...but THEN WHAT?
Beamish...Yes, I remember...another French take over...well, you can't trust those Germans!
I knew it was the color, Beamish :-)
CS, Frankenmuth has changed a lot in 30 years but still a cool town.
Mein Gott, der sie einige schonen Frauen sind! Ich denke, dass ich anfangen werde, Bier zu trinken!
Imp..your second sentence is pretty good :-)
I'd try on an orange dress and talk like Impertinent after a few mugs of beer.
I'd like to get my wife one of those dresses
speaking of beautiful women!! but i guess they all look good with the beer goggles on!... he he...
p.s. z... where you in any of these pictures?... he he...
Pat.."beer goggles"..that's hilarious!
No, I'm not....but I HAVE been :-)
I almost posted a pic of me and Heidianne at the LA Tea Party but decided too much face...I have to stay anonymous for a lot of reasons, but I almost did!
