I will be sure to Z!
Doing so. May God grant them His grace and Mercy!
4. The neurosurgeon was satisfied with the last CT scan early this morning.

Does anyone know the longer term implications of that news?
I'd like to know, too...
Please provide any info...
Where are Brooke and Chuck, our RN's?
I hope they can chime in...when I get back later, Ducky (got to leave now), I'll ask them both at their sites.
They are in my prayers. It's good to hear he is coherent and has his memory.
God be with him and help him recover.
Pris
praying for god's strength and grace to envelope them. i know aow is leaning heavily on him. thanks for the reminder to check the site, z. saves tmw from my pestering :)
I just added Mr. AOW to my prayers. Thank you for letting me know.
Z, I stopped by earlier and wrote a post in answer to your question. I did something wrong and it was erased?
The question from you and Ducky is hard to answer without more info. A lot of it depends on what is wrong. The neurosurgeon may be happy that he is recovering and the damage is not as bad as they thought or he may be satisfied that the damage is not as bad as it could be. Hemorrhagic strokes can be quite bad and sometimes success is measured in small advances.
Reality is that this can often have a bad outcome and sometimes we take good news where we can get it.
I am thinking of AOW and her husband, their life has been turned upside down.
Z, thank you for letting us know. We are certainly praying for them. The Lord is always good, & we can trust Him, especially in dark times. God Bless.
Prayers for Mr and Mrs AOW and everyone involved in his care.
CHUCK, I don't know why your first comment didn't take..sorry about that.
The Merry Widow called late this afternoon and said Always' husband is feeling things...it's looking pretty good. Apparently, the scan shows that bleeding's stopped, at least...and they seem optimistic.
I'm sure TMW has new info at Always' blog......
I see what you mean about docs thinking things look good..considering how it might have been; doesn't mean GOOD, but in comparison....
BUT...having said that...there's room for optimism..he's talking to Always and understanding all she's saying, etc. Keep praying, everybody! And thanks.
Ducky: Long term is hard to tell, but for right now that probably means there is no additional bleeding and what blood is in the brain may be starting to clear. If the CT shows the bleed to be not too big and Mr. AOW's intercrainial pressure recedes, then he may be able to begin rehabilitation. The challenge will be not only rehab, but determining the cause and trying to prevent another occurance, if possible.
Thanks for coming over, Brooke....we really appreciate the information: I knew you and Chuck would come through!
My prayers to you both. Grace, mercy, wisdom and peace.
I would be curious to know if there was a 4 vessel cerebral arteriogram done. These things can be embolized if they are in the right location.
The latest from ALWAYS ON WATCH:
Mr. AOW alternates between lethargy and restlessness. The restlessness is a good sign that he's fighting.
2. No heart attack! A common complication.
3. Good oxygen levels.
4. The neurosurgeon was satisfied with the last CT scan early this morning.
Update from AOW (September 17 @ 1:40 AM):
I just got off the phone from Mr. AOW's nurse. Improvement noted! Mr. AOW is finally opening his eyes! He's less lethargic overall now - at the 48 hour mark.
The reports sound good. His improvement seems to be steadily moving along.
All the best to him and prayers for his speedy recovery.
Pris
Thanks for the updates Z. These are some good signs. Brooke is right though, the work is just beginning for them.
Looks encouraging at the 48 hour mark. My prayers are with both of them.
Thanks for posting this on your blog, Z.
