So, how do you prove you're not a racist?

I don't have to link anything here, you've all heard the word: You're RACIST if you disagree with anything Obama does. That makes me a racist....you, too?

Were Blacks who spoke against Bush racist, too?

BREAKING HIDEOUS NEWS: Jimmy Carter just told Brian Williams of NBC that Americans who criticize Obama are criticizing him out of racism.

A racist is a person who believes that skin color is a relevant factor in the worth, morality and abilities of a person.

Some would instead have us believe that a racist is a white person who isn't ashamed of their skin color.

Steve Harkonnen said...

Thanks for the definition, Shoprat. This relieves me from being a racist entirely. Black people have never bothered me at all when it comes to their skin color. But I have been the victim of a lot of black people inciting racism against me during my "short" life thus far.

By all means I cannot think of a reason to hate Obama because he is black. He is qualified to do the job as president. He just goes about it the wrong way and IMO, he's just messing our country up a heck of a lot.

Steve Harkonnen said...

Wanted to add Z: Racism as a term being used against whites because Obama is a black man is getting old.

It's what I would call the obviously largest straw man created so far, and it will last as long as dear Obama sits in office.

A straw man, by my own definition, is when someone brings up an irrelevant point (i.e. you don't like Obama 'cause he's black) where the point has no part in any constructive argument or discussion.

All I have to say is look. At Newark, Detroit, Philadelphia, DC, LA...the CBC and on and on...Now ACORN, another failed quest to "level the playing field" that was intended to...help the "underprivileged". One more case of corruption, malfeasance and ineptitude...to put it mildly.

Anyone hear what Fat Albert, Tax Cheat Rangel and Jesse have to say about ACORN?

Not a word...it's Fox's / Bush's fault/

I don't have to prove anything.

I don't think Obama is qualified to be President. If someone think's that's racist, be my guest.

I know who I am, and those who know me know who I am. I will not be defensive because I think Barack Obama is a disaster for America. That's what the left wants. Let 'em talk, who cares?

All the talk about race is coming from their side. They're the ones who are obsessed with race, and they're the ones who exploit it. So, who are really the racists?

Frankly, I'm sick of their race baiting. All this does is make me more determined to run the left out of Washington DC.

According to the Demagogacrats, a racist is whoever they say it is...but never one of them, especially not when one of them makes a racist remark.

Jimmy Carter? The anti-semite? That's rich! Too funny.

I think using the term "straw man" is racist. Not sure why; I just have a hunch.

Also, if you have not adopted a child from a foreign country, you are racist.

A quote from Anne: How one gets from "we don't want socialized medicine" to "we hate black people" was a tough equation. As my algebra teacher used to say: "Please show your work."

prove I'm a racist. I don't have to prove I'm not a racist. I'm with pris, I don't think Obama is qualified to be potus. but then again I don't think Jimmy Carter was qualified to be potus either. what does that make me?

Anonymous said...

It makes you a good history student, Heidianne! ;-)

I don't prove it, Z.
I think that trying to prove it comes across as insincere. My work environment is comprised of people of all races. Genuine kindness goes a long way towards getting past all the racism garbage.

If some of my coworkers are racist against me and see me as a 'conservative republican white girl', then that's their problem. I'll not bow to intimidation.

Opus #6 said...

I will not be intimidated by charges of racism. I am anti-socialist, anti-communist. It is an ideology, not a race.

They need to prove their charges or be quiet.

Wow, America is still having this conversation with a black man in office-the highest office in the land. Perhaps a better question would be regarding the "reverse racism." In the meantime, I better be careful not to say look who's calling the kettle black. Heh! The nonsense that continues to go on wearies me.

Deborah on the Bayside said...

A recent Obama defender said " 'they' are really against him because of who is is and where he comes from and what he's done."

Yeah! Right again! While the ridiculous inference (in context) was to his race, this is a capital example of how even a broken clock is right twice a day.

WHO HE IS - an ignorant leftist on a disturbing tear for power and control, always doing the wrong thing.

WHERE HE COMES FROM - out of one of the most wickedly corrupt political machines in Christendom, where he marinated for 20 years in a church with disgusting racist invective to boot.

WHAT HE'S DONE - "Community Organizing" - stirred up trouble or created it where none existed, voted to let certain babies die without help, given our friends the cold shoulder, gone all kissy with disreputable brutes that deserve our approbation, saddled our children with monstrous debt to buy votes -- oooh the list is so long and only 8 months into his reign.

Z said...

Sorry, my title was purely rhetorical; I didn't mean we have to prove it. I know none of you are racists, I know I'm not;

Just meant "where do we go from HERE? When people call you that, it pretty much stops the conversation...AND THEY KNOW IT"

Some are saying now that Obama was the guy for the very reason that his people knew Americans would balk at criticizing...HOw disgusting...but it makes sense.

Thank GOD nobody's intimidated by it like they thought we'd be.

Can you find a link to that quote Z, just in case? The racist charge is now the 21st century version of the boy who cried wolf.

Seriously...

Z said...

Vegas Guy..the quote from Carter? It was breaking news and no Google article yet....
As for other links, Janeane Garafalo, Olbermann, Maureen Dowd..too many to enumerate here.
It's pretty unbelievable, isn't it.

Talking about racism: I heard yesterday that a 12-person committee was established to analyze the incident at Harvard, and more precisely.....the behavior of the police. I find that unbelievably disgusting, because if anything needs to be analyzed it would be the racial remarks by that Gates idiot.

These days, with this new administration, everything is upside down. This has the same quality than the South African government yelling racism and human rights violation in case of this unfortunate girl who is a hermaphrodite. Can't be their fault - must be the white people.

That's right. We are approaching African conditions like one of those communist dictatorships in Africa. Same tactics, same enemy.

Jimmah! News flash! We can't stand that asshole for the same reason we couldn't stand you, incompetence!!!

Ducky's here said...

Well that's not quite true. Those that are opposed to this administration would be opposed to the policies under any circumstances.

It's just that there is an element in the right that is simply not going to be governed by the black guy. No way, no how. It amplifies the frenzy and it gets pushed by Glenn Beck and Rush the Vulgar Gasboy and other leaders of the contemporary right.

They are becoming more and more upset that they can't find a reason to impeach. No Kenyan birth certificate but they will keep trying all sorts of nonsense because they absolutely will not be governed by the black guy.

I don't apply this to all right wingers. They would be irrational in the best of times but this does dial up the rhetoric of a significant minority on the right.

Duck, to argue that there are some on the right that are racist is silliness. There are no racists on the left? There is no one on the left that hates whites? Hispanics? Asians? Muslims?

You drop these ridiculous arguments and then walk away smugly like you have made a point.

There is not a person here that would disagree that there are whackjobs on the right and there is not a person here that would disagree that there are racists on the right? So what?

This does not mean any argument against Obama is racist and that is becoming the talking point from the left. That is what the point was here and you know it.

Blacks attacked Bush, were they racist? If your answer is no, then what do you base it on?

As far as this:

It's just that there is an element in the right that is simply not going to be governed by the black guy. No way, no how. It amplifies the frenzy and it gets pushed by Glenn Beck and Rush the Vulgar Gasboy and other leaders of the contemporary right.

Back that up.

For the record, I am not a huge supporter of either although I think they both have their moments of clarity.

With that said, provide us with some examples of Rush and Beck "pushing" the racist agenda of the "significant minority on the right."

In other words instead of just throwing your usual bombs, back up your assertions.

Ducky's here said...

Here's my assertion Chuck.

A black president is threatening to many on the right, even if they don't really understand it, because while Obama is an accomplished individual in many estimations, the loyalty he inspires among African Americans frightens them --- and his sometime feints to popular culture and black solidarity make them very, very uncomfortable. That's why this obsession with ACORN has such resonance. The black army is forming. And many on the right are irrational and scared out of their wits.

No, you don't see them run around calling the president, "boy". We have moved beyond that but the deep fear is their. I know you can feel it.

highboy said...

Ducky, underlining that very well written lecture about whitey hating blackey, is an impotent frustration at the fact that despite Obama's charm and rousing, tear jerking speeches, people see him for what a lying incompetent president he is. I know its hard for liberals to grasp that we don't like being 13 trillion in debt, we don't like our president writing checks he can't cash, healthcare proposals that have been utter failures everywhere, etc. Get over it. We don't like him. Or was all the Bush bashing that took place done by people afraid of old, rich white people forming an army? Based on the logic you're using, that must be the case.

Ducky's here said...

Highboy, you right wingers have been piling up the debt big time since St. Ronnie Raygun.

What we have now is a situation where someone has to clean up after the elephants again. We had George and "Bubbles" Greenspan deregulating and giving everyone the Full Ayn Rand and you destroyed the financial system. Now be a good far right winger and TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. You guys are always talking about being the party of responsibility. Now's the time to admit how badly you screwed up and get behind efforts to fix it.

As I said. You would oppose this administration no matter what because in order to clean up your mess it is going to take government action. Only way it can be done.

There are some who will intensify that resistance because they resent being governed by a black man. I'm not pointing to individuals but if the shoe fits ... well people have to look inside themselves.

Ducky's here said...

Or was all the Bush bashing that took place done by people afraid of old, rich white people forming an army?

Yup, it's called Wall Street and ask anyone, their casinos have an insatiable appetite for free chips.

Z said...

Ducky, Jimmy Carter is the only president I know who's called a Black president "boy".."Black boy" to be complete. Look it up.

The rest of your comment? bilge
Oh, and don't look now, but I don't think there were many Wall St types in that army on Saturday. But good try.

Ducky's here said...

Army, Saturday?

Crowd estimates are at about 90,000 on the high side. Not really much of an army compared to the crowds the left was getting out to oppose the war.

Army? Please stop, z.

Ducky, the last time I checked, Glenn Beck was exposing corruption at ACORN. He was speaking about a couple posing as a prostitute and her pimp seeking advice on setting up a brothel in Baltimore, I believe. They were given advice on bringing in girls as young as 13 to act as "performing artists" and how to expense a lot of things, including saving money on taxes by claiming some of these girls as "dependents" on their tax returns.

You have no problem with that picture?

Z said...

Ducky, don't you think it's so odd that the MILLION MAN MARCH had about the same amount of people but the media said A MILLION then? Odd, just SO "odd", isn't it? :-)

Did you find the info about Carter calling Obama a 'black boy'? Just wondering.

I'll be eager to hear about the CZARs, too...looks like Republicans are finally waking up and we'll be hearing about their FBI checks and their salaries and the unconstitutionality of it all, Bush's included, though his were transparent.

And, yes, as ANON says..You have no problem with that picture?

Ducky's here said...

Yup, your right, z. Carter did refer to Obama as a "black boy" in the context of a "black child". One who grew up to be president. Hardly offensive.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

You know how many people took off work to attend the anti-war demonstrations?

Five.

highboy said...

Ducky, you are a flat liar and I'd love some verifiable evidence that this debt has been piling up since Reagan, what with Carter before him forcing banks to hand out loans like all get out to people they knew couldn't pay them back? Oh yes, when its a completely dem controlled government amassing enormous amounts of debt its just good governing, but when a Republican cuts my taxes its fiscal irresponsibility and a plight only to help the rich. Gotcha.

Ducky's here said...

Reagan didn't run large deficits? Are you on drugs?

Ducky's here said...

"Reagan taught us that deficits don't count"

Remember that one highboy?
Man, if you don't think Reagan and the Bush boys ran up huge deficits then you picked the right screen-name.

Z said...

Good try, Ducky...
But hollow...imagine if Bush had said "Black boy" to Obama.

I personally believe he's BLACK and that he is a BOY compared to Carter; I'm not racist enough to have jumped to conclusions as some did then....but the hypocrisy is delicious and that you and the mainstream media don't get it yet is even more so.

Ducky's here said...

Can the straw man crap, z.

CARTER: It already has sent a wave of approbation and admiration in many countries around the world just knowing that this black boy who grew up with just a loving mother and -- and grandparents and that was about all he had to start with, has now had a chance to become the nominee of the Democratic Party for president.

-------------------

Only Rush the Vulgar Pigboy found that offensive.

Duck, as usual you didn't answer a single one of my questions. You just rattled on and on and then once again explained to us how comservatives feel. Bottom line, your full of horsesh!!.

"I don't apply this to all right wingers. They would be irrational in the best of times but this does dial up the rhetoric of a significant minority on the right."

Tsk, tsk, Ducky. The only ones dialing up the rhetoric on race is the left. I haven't heard anyone on the right bring up race.

We "get" the tactic of race baiting Ducky. In fact it's people who use, or exploit black people to further their agenda, or to silence their opponents, that's who I see as the racists.

You have no higher regard for black people than those you can exploit. You people are nothing but poverty pimps, paying people a few bucks to march, and to bow at your altar, and treating them as if that's all they're good for.

That's why you can't stand Clarence Thomas, Michael Steele, or Condi Rice, etc. You can't exploit them. They won't play on your "plantation".

And now you use them for this. To try to instill guilt in the American people. You spread your hate and class warfare to keep people polarized, and wary. Well, it won't work this time.

It will serve to create more anger in average citizens who see our country systematically being brought down, and race has nothing to do with it. Not on our side.

Knock yourself out, we're on to your game.

Pris
PS. Ducky you can keep lowering the numbers of the throng of folks who were in DC on 9/12, but pictures don't lie.

Z said...

Ducky, remind me: How do YOU think Bush would have been treated had he said that? Here's a tidbit on CARTER: Enjoy...

"...he met privately with the head of the States Rights Council, a white supremacist group, and campaigned in all-white private schools that were known as 'segregation academies,' where he promised that he would do 'everything' to support their existence. 'I have no trouble pitching for [George] Wallace [segregationist] votes and the black votes at the same time,' he told a reporter. He also said to another reporter, 'I can win this election without a single black vote.'"
"I see nothing wrong with ethnic purity being maintained."
I am sick and tired of hearing about the Holocaust.
...the U.S. should take "more forceful action" with Israel, Arafat "may well see the suicide attacks as one of the few ways to retaliate against his tormentors." He then blamed Ariel Sharon for the popularity of suicide bombers, whom he described as "counterproductive."
. ..today's Jew-killers are just "misguided young men and women," but withholding aid to Palestinians for electing Hamas is a "crime."
Not only are Jews to blame for dead Jews, they are to blame for dead everyone else.
He's "never met a dictator he didn't like .."

Nice, Ducky. Keep up your admiration.

Thanks to the blogger on vacation who emailed me this. xxx (I like you!)
