The poll contradicts the claims of not only the White House, but also doctors' own lobby — the powerful American Medical Association — both of which suggest the medical profession is behind the proposed overhaul.
It also calls into question whether an overhaul is even doable; 72% of the doctors polled disagree with the administration's claim that the government can cover 47 million more people with better-quality care at lower cost.
I wonder if the mainstream media will mention this, huh? OH, they did, but they, um...got it wrong:
It (the poll above) also differs with findings of a poll released Monday by National Public Radio that suggests a "majority of physicians want public and private insurance options," and clashes with media reports such as Tuesday's front-page story in the Los Angeles Times with the headline "Doctors Go For Obama's Reform." It can't be TRUE! NPR and the L.A. Times? Bastions of fairness and lack of AGENDA? Well, you know... Investor's Business Daily can't be trusted. It's not leftwing, so..........

Go to Costa Rica, no problem
Thanks, Truth.
I guess if this happens, the lines will be even longer than conservatives predicted, huh?
Costa Rica.....very cool place to go, by the way.
Com'on, Z, it's hard to understand why doctors fuss about opening the door to free care overnight to millions.
I'm sure in their gratitude for the free use of other peoples' money patients will be inspired to sobriety and self-restraint as they use services sparingly and until they can repay the doctor some chickens or a pig at slaughter, or reimburse the public purse. Much as Congress does.
Surely doctors would never find their waiting rooms littered with grasping self-centered narcissists who feel the world owes them.
No, no. Not at'll. Let's pretend we're New Dealers with chin up for good intentions and leave the reality check to those curmudgeonly, slubberdegullion Republicans who behave like lowdown out-of-work rat catchers that we all know live to inflict pain and misery in Shangri-la while bathing the planet in carbon dioxide.
I'd ask Ducky to give me foot massage daily to pay for the mistakes of his people.
The AMA is to doctors, what the AARP is to seniors, and what the media, President, and Congress is to the American people.
FRAUDS!
Betrayal seems to be the order of the day.

Doctors will definitely retire, why would they want to continue working in a system that's going to tax the ass off them and not reward them for their hard work.
Every doctor I've heard on the radio says the AMA and Obama are full of crap. And then they say that the majority of doctors don't even BELONG to the AMA! They say it's a useless PAC now.....
Lightning, I'd heard the same thing about AMA Membership. But, most Americans don't know that and they follow its lead "If the AMA likes it, it must be the right thing..."
Sounds like we need doctors to speak more loudly about this decision....because even Americans not into real news (CNN and network watchers who are happy only getting propaganda) might sit up and take notice!!?
I have four doctors that I see regularly. Not one of them is for this ObamaCare fiasco.
Illegal aliens get FREE healthcare now. Imagine that! You are in this Country ILLEGALLY and you are able to get FREE healthcare! When is going to stop!
my sister is the practice manager for a very large group of doctors in the houston area. she is also the managing test coordinator for several different manufacturers. she deals with, literally, hundreds of doctors each week.
she says she has yet to meet a doctor who is supporting obamacare. she also says that many doctors are dang-near daily writing to congress and the ama to say "we are not for this. this will hurt people, not help them" but they are getting no where.
sad, sad commentary, eh? or to use my latest favorite word, disgusting.
The AMA is a joke. Unfortunately Americans have a long history of believing that the AMA is the end all be all. We need to lose that 'doctors are god' mentality, the quicker, the better!
Ever wonder why it's so hard to find a good general practitioner / family medicine doc? It's because nobody wants to accept medicaid / medicare anymore. It costs more to GIVE the care than it's worth. Docs have hugs loans to pay off. We have a preview of obamacare already.
Wow. Seems like Pris knocked that baby right OUTTA the ballpark!

Not sure about the exact numbers, but it wouldn't surprise me that a lot of docs would retire rather than do Obamacare. If I were close to retirement (as a good chunk of doctors are) why would I want to compete for the few privately insured patients left (cause I sure as heck wouldn't want to see patients I would lose money on), be forced to adopt electronic medical records (at significant cost despite promises from the government otherwise, and considerable effort, and I know from experience), and get taxed more to pay for it all? Can anyone say DUH?
Sadly, I am at least 20 years from retirement, unless I have some rich long lost relative out there that dies and leaves me a bundle...
I have no doubt that most doctors are dead set against this bullshit, but I seriously doubt that 45% would retire. They may well have said so for the poll, but words are cheap. That said however, I believe that a good 15% WOULD, and that would be very detrimental for us all.
