In italics and red, below, is a comment left at my blog by my friend, a man I admire, fellow blogger Papa Frank. What he's addressing below is the fact that schools are suddenly backing off that talk Obama's going to give students next week. Papa Frank is addressing the fact that his childrens' school district has, because of so many inquiries, decided that no classrooms will be showing the speech at all. And, if it is used in a curriculum they feel it fits into, parents will be alerted beforehand and children can be excused. This is Papa Frank's comment:
"I think it's awesome that enough people picked up their phones and called, or their computers and emailed, or actually walked into the schools and central office to make them realize that their attendance would dramatically drop for that day and they would lose their funding and credit for the day of school. I have no doubt that their decision was about money and not about ethics. Whatever the case, it shows that if enough people believe in something and voice their opinion then it WILL make a difference. If we could only get the same backing now for PATRIOTISM, hard work, and teachers teaching and not pushing an agenda. There is power in numbers and we conservatives NEED to connect and join together and realize that we can make a difference even if it takes excessive time and effort to get it done."
So, that's my SUNDAY FAITH BLOG for today............Today, the 'faith' part of 'Sunday Faith Blog' is about FAITH IN AMERICANS.
"Posterity: you will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.".........John Quincy Adams
"You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children (America), the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done."....Ronald Reagan
"Sure I wave the American flag. Do you know a better flag to wave? Sure I love my country with all her faults. I'm not ashamed of that, never have been, never will be."......John Wayne
God bless America, keep her peoples' faith in her alive and may we never fail to remember that our faith in our country can make the difference.
Have a wonderful Sunday, folks............Have Faith. Mr and Mrs Z

Papa Frank - this is backing patriotism, and I think it's not just conservatives. The people can make a difference, in fact we always could.
The awakening is happening, and the Emperor has no clothes!

Great stuff yet again Z, and cudos to Papa Frank. Those were awesome quotes. Like John Quincy Adams: "I hope you will make good use of it." Reminded me of the movie Saving Private Ryan, where Captain Miller's dying words to Ryan: "earn this... earn it." I think we all have to earn what we have inherited by fighting to preserve it. Keep up the good fight Z!
Never on Sunday do I like to discuss politics, but I wonder how many parents would believe it's their patriotic duty to keep their kids home if they had been invited to come to the White House to meet the president and hear him give a speech urging them to study hard and stay in school, with all expenses paid by someone concerned about education, say Bill Cosby.
Woohoo to that update!
HERE is my post on the resignation of Van Jones.
It may yet be "morning in America" again.
Last night, I was feeling so low.
This morning, not so much.
Absolutely the LAST and I mean last thing I want happening in schools is the president addressing kids and telling them to study and graduate.
Outrageous !!!
Sure, he'll tell them that right after he pushes his agenda. Parents don't want that!
My local school district will be doing the same thing as PF's. I'm OK with that; it's fair.
I'm thrilled that enough people made their wants on the matter clear!
What some people have difficulties to understand is that we are not opposed to a President speaking generally to school children reminding them that they need to work hard to succeed.
It is the Hitlerian indoctrination part (or shall we say socialist - we have seen the same thing in East Germany) which we don't want to see because it is completely inappropriate. School is not the place for indoctrination but rather for learning the serious stuff for life - and to make another point clear, that does NOT include all diverse "studies" like "gender studies" or "African-American studies".
Mr.Z
Thanks, friend!
Ducky -- Absolutely the LAST and I mean last thing I want happening in schools is the president playing the role of parent. That is not the role of the President or Congress. They are people elected to work only at the pleasure of the people. The people want the government OUT of their personal lives. If Obama's only agenda was to relay the message that kids should study hard and graduate there are a ton of more appropriate ways to get that done. He has no right to force his agenda on our children while we entrust them to our local school. Incidentally, neither does George Bush, Ronald Reagan, or even Abraham Lincoln. Which is why they didn't.
"God bless America, keep her peoples' faith in her alive and may we never fail to remember that our faith in our country can make the difference."
Amen, Z...and thanks visiting my place and leaving such a nice comment. I find your commentary enjoyable.
To Ducky, and PSI, It's not the talk to the kids to study and work hard that's objectionable. It's the pre-written lesson plan that accompanies it, which for one thing urges the children to read Obama's books, and for another enlists them to "help" the President.
In case you two are the only ones in the country who didn't know, the President wants a national service force, beginning with the children.
Implied in that goal, is serving Obama, and the state. It smacks of indoctrination, and a larger version of community organizing. It also removes children one step further from the authority of their parents.
This President can't seem to allow the people to be in charge of anything including their own lives, and how to raise their children. He's gone too far, and overreached. If anyone is to blame, it's Obama himself.
He has revealed himself to be dictatorial, and seems to see himself as the be all and end all, and the people secondary, and fodder for his agenda.
He has announced that he sees national service as the core of his Presidency. He just forgot one thing.
The American people have something to say about that, much to his dismay, I'm sure!
Pris
Education was "supposed" to be the next "stepping stone" issue after health care....
Once Congress deals with health care, "education" is where he'll be headed.
I'm so happy to see parents speaking out against the Obamacast. If September 8 went well that would have been the first of many more Obamacast to come. Each one would be worse than the last.
God Bless America, God Save The Republic.
He has no right to force his agenda on our children while we entrust them to our local school. Incidentally, neither does George Bush, Ronald Reagan, or even Abraham Lincoln. Which is why they didn't.
-------------------
Frank, you don't remember St. Ronnie Raygun's address to school kids in which he told them that all the founding fathers were descended from the pilgrims.
That was a real beauty.
Daddy Bush addressed school kids also. His was reasonably neutral.
Ducky, Reagan said this: "Our Founding Fathers were the descendents of the Pilgrims -- men and women who came to America seeking freedom of worship -- who prospered here and offered a prayer of thanksgiving, something we've continued to do each year, and so that we'll do it again on Thursday of next week."
So you believe he meant that literally, right? OH, Ducky....try again.
http://barnson.org/node/1826
That's the site where I found that..a site that slammed his speech. But the speech is there.
WOULD that Obama would make a pro American speech like THAT! LMAO ..forever !
By the way, Ducky, since we're on the FAITH blog...did you feel the media treated Obama's speaking to thousands of religious types to push his health care plan as they'd have treated Bush if he'd spoken to ONE religious type?
Or when they warned the Conservatives in many editorials and articles about speaking at religious events but CNN had a split-screen that next day showing big crosses on altars in front of which Kerry and Hillary were about to be speaking?
Just curious. thanks.
LOL! Your post dovetails nicely with the one I just finished. Are we oscillating on the same frequency Z?
Thankfully, the public is rejecting Obamacare the more they become informed about it.
This is like 1994 all over again. Remember the Hillary health care scandal. The fallout from that debacle swept Newt and his allies into Congressional power in the "Year of the Informed Voter".
I wonder what brilliant mind inside the Obama White House came up with the idea to cause a repeat of this by creating a new health care debacle.
z, I have no idea what you are writing about. It does sound as if you're being a drama queen but I really don't know.
dmarks...if that mind (and it SURE isn't Obama's!) had waited about 10 years, they'd have swept this country with health care and socialism. They should have waited for the older generation to die first... maybe that's why they're happily plotting to give them pain pills instead of the life-saving heart surgery they might need to last a few more years?
Ya, they've got our kids, but they haven't got our oldsters. They underestimated and that might be the saving grace for this country.
WE HAVE TO FIGHT.
G-Man..it's an honor; we seem to do that a lot.
I recommend everyone goes and reads what you wrote because it is SO important.
Thanks, Ducky.
I guess it shows how little the media did do to tell you about that phone call.
Sorry you can't think it through..
YOu don't know if I'm being a 'drama queen'. I'm not. There.
So, let's summarize. Next week school kids are going to watch a 15-20 minute talk by President Obama on C-SPAN, all about "persisting and succeeding in school," according to The Dept.of Education. How do the grown-ups in the Florida GOP (among others) react? By releasing a statement:
"...condemning President Obama's use of taxpayer dollars to indoctrinate America's children to his socialist agenda."
"The idea that school children across our nation will be forced to watch the President justify his plans for government-run health care, banks, and automobile companies, increasing taxes on those who create jobs, and racking up more debt than any other President, is not only infuriating, but goes against beliefs of the majority of Americans, while bypassing American parents through an invasive abuse of power," said Jim Greer, party chairman, in a news release.
----
Man, he's going to do all that in 15-20 minutes? We don't pay him enough! Maybe the wily Obama has got his hands on some of that Videodrome technology.
Wingnuts, your magic marker Hitler mustaches are no match for this man!
But, Ducky, I didn't expect a response at all...
I'm still flummoxed that a fairly intelligent human being would try to insult Reagan for having meant literally that all founders were related to the Pilgrims...!!
Ducky, just saw your comment on Obama..
Don't look now...but (ssshhh!) he hadn't revealed a transcript until he could tell how what they rumored would be said was not appreciated...guess what! They're releasing it Tuesday. I'll just BET it's not been changed, right? LOL!!
And, don't look now, but changes were made to the CURRICULUM his people have distributed around the country asking children to write to OBAMA about how much they can do for him.
Maybe if he'd JUST suggested they do hard work for themselves and for AMERICA, that might have flown?
Stop suggesting, in your typical leftwinger way, that we don't appreciate Obama inspiring kids to work and get ahead...it's as stupid as someone suggesting Van Jones is gone because we're racists.
ALTHOUGH I will say his POLICIES discourage their working hard and getting ahead and MAKING BIG MONEY. Sure "work your bottoms off to get into a good college, do well, study hard, make big money in business....and we'll REDISTRIBUTE IT FOR YOU!"
now THAT's an inspiration, huh? What a hypocrite he is.
By the way,
Ducky -- only Obama has a speech meant specifically for play in public schools. Reagan's speech and Bush's speech were not sent through the department of education and given with a "lesson plan" of what to do and what to talk about. This is the model for indoctrination pure and simple. It won't happen now in my school and won't happen ever under any president. The content of the speech does not matter. The vehicle of the speech and the abuse of power does.
Darn, I always get snippy and pissy and then Papa comes in and nails it with kind, informative language.
@$&@(#$&(@* NOT THAT I MIND, I just wish I had the gift! :=)
T see you like quotes by Thomas Jefferson. Here's a couple you can add to your sidebar....
Thomas Jefferson
"I have examined all the known superstitions of the world and I do not find
in our particular superstition of Christianity one redeeming feature. They
are all alike founded on fables and mythology. Millions of innocent men,
women, and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been
burnt, tortured, fined, and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this
coercion? To make one half the world fools and the other half hypocrites; to
support roguery and error all over the earth."
Jefferson again
"Christianity...(has become) the most perverted system that ever shone on
man...Rogueries, absurdities and untruths were perpetrated upon the
teachings of Jesus by a large band of dupes and imposters led by Paul, the
first great corruptor of the teachings of Jesus."
More Jefferson
"The clergy converted the simple teachings of Jesus into an engine for
enslaving mankind and adulturated by artificial constructions into a
contrivance to filch wealth and power to themselves...these clergy in fact,
constitute the real Anti-Christ."
Thank you "Truth" for your idiotic tirade that has nothing to do with the post at hand. This is the reality:
Thomas Jefferson is often named as the source of the following quotation:
"I have examined all the known superstitions of the world, and I do not find in our particular superstition of Christianity one redeeming feature. They are all alike founded on fables and mythology."
Some sources cite this as being from a letter from Jefferson to a "Dr. Woods;" others claim it was to William Short, and still others do not cite a specific document. We have not found this quotation in any of Jefferson's known writings.
The following is sometimes appended to the above quotations:
"Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this coercion? To make one half the world fools and the other half hypocrites; to support roguery and error all over the earth."
This portion is, in fact, a genuine Jefferson quotation; it comes from his Notes on the State of Virginia, Query XVII. Here is the quotation with the material that actually precedes it in Notes:
"Difference of opinion is advantageous in religion. The several sects perform the office of a Censor morum over each other. Is uniformity attainable? Millions of innocent men, women and children, since the introduction of Christianity, have been burnt, tortured, fined, imprisoned: yet we have not advanced one inch towards uniformity. What has been the effect of coercion? To make one half the world fools, and the other half hypocrites. To support roguery and error all over the earth."[1]
Thanks, Papa.
Truth, I'm not real sure what your point is. I don't know a Christian who goes to Thomas Jefferson for truths about the faith, but ...thanks.
And as Papa Frank said, it's not on topic and, by the way...you're the very first person to post such a comment on the Sunday Faith Blog. How unseemly, I'd delete it but I think, somehow, it's important...thanks.
Truth, examine the quotations which you wrote.
If these are accurate and true
they are not rantings against Christianity, God, Jesus, or Christians faithful to Jesus' teachings.
These are rantings against the clergy, and the church, most likely the church of England at that time.
In short, against men who abused their power, in some instances, as those who represented faith to wield their power.
In fact, it is clear from reading these quotes, that Thomas Jefferson believed in Jesus, and his teachings, and believed in God.
He bemoaned the abuse by some of the church, who did, as mere mortals, abuse their sacred trust.
I think, if you must come here on Sunday, that if you cannot have respect for those of us who do have faith, just say "have a nice day", and that would suffice.
Pris
Well said Pris.
very well said, Pris
Getting back to Obama's planned chalkboard-side chat... I have a problem with more than just the "lesson plan", though that is an outrage. Michelle is on record as discouraging youths from corporate jobs and joining her husband's civilian security force instead, so why stay in school? You don't need a degree to wield a baton in front of a polling booth.
DaBlade: I'd written this earlier in an above comment "ALTHOUGH I will say his POLICIES discourage their working hard and getting ahead and MAKING BIG MONEY. Sure "work your bottoms off to get into a good college, do well, study hard, make big money in business....and we'll REDISTRIBUTE IT FOR YOU!"
I couldn't agree with you more.
Don't forget, Michelle is a woman who had about a $200K position at a Chicago hospital..SO important that they didn't have to replace her after she left. whew.
Dang, I went to to work for a few hours and missed the party!
Well said, all. I've enjoyed reading the banter.
Oh, I'm so sorry, psi bond..
but this IS my Sunday Faith Blog and I'm tired of the political stuff. As you'd said, you don't enjoy talking politics on Sunday, either, right?
Your 3 or 4 comments regarding Republicans who think it's just wonderful that Obama's speaking to the children is commendable and I appreciate your taking such trouble to educate us; the problem is, we've seen it all. And, they have different values than some of us do; remember, the Republican tent is huge; we even disagree with each other in public, something I have never seen Democrats do, to their credit.
See, AS WE'VE SAID HERE...it's not so much the talking that bothered us...it's the curriculum that came with it; that's a first...for any administration. We just can't have American children writing any promises to our president.
Most kids have parents who can direct/lead them and you'll see that evidenced in some of the excellent comments here above the ones I deleted of yours.
OH, and by the way, the curriculum got changed when the Conservatives spoke up. Right before Van Jones "resigned".
OH, psi bond...I wish you'd read my comment. Anything you're commenting with now just seems silly.
When you get your pem blog, you can leave your comments as long as you like. Sadly, with the history or disrespect you've shown, you're going to have to be deleted when I see comments I don't want here. Remember, it's my blog, not where you think you're educating anybody!!!
and you clearly work so hard to keep information and keep posting and keep posting and keep posting...
I'll be here in the morning deleting again. see you then
Well said Z, nice post, good to hear more people are repelling the socialist advances.
Some conservatives say the furor over the speech by the right threatens to discredit Republicans as they battle with the White House and Congress over health care, the budget and other important policy issues. "People should chill out a little -- they don't have to criticize [Mr. Obama] for everything he does," said Frank Luntz, a onetime strategist for Republican candidates. Conservative critics, he said, need to "pick your battles," or "at some point the public will stop listening."

Listen up, kids: Campaign against the
President's school talk is despicable
Editorials
Sunday, September 6th 2009, 4:00 AM
The furor over President Obama's planned address to the nation's students Tuesday is a disgusting display of disrespect and mindless political hatred.
Parents and educators who are ready to pull kids from school, as though a speech by our democratically elected President is akin to the swine flu, should be ashamed.
In the remarks, to be shown live on the White House Web site and on cable TV, Obama will urge children to work hard and stay in school.
Never has a less political or controversial message been spoken. Never has a more powerful messenger - a man who worked his way to the highest office in the land by excelling in school - been eager to deliver it.
Yet the haters conjure images of the President controlling the airwaves to brainwash Obama Youth with a socialist screed. One commentator even compared the President to Saddam Hussein and Kim Jong Il.
As partisans have stoked the flames, school districts in Texas and elsewhere are giving children the chance to opt out. How idiotic. The speech is to be celebrated, not feared.
Kids: Whether or not your parents voted for Barack Obama, whether or not you like him, he is our President. As was George W. Bush. As was Bill Clinton. As was George H.W. Bush, who gave a similar speech in 1991.
He deserves your respect. And at least a few moments of your undivided attention.
Ah, gosh, Psi bond...I'll let this stay this time.
I'm SO 'ashamed' that I don't want presidents indoctrinating my kids, telling them to 'wash their hands', telling them to study hard so they can cure cancer when he's got policies where we'll have no money for cancer research...telling them to STUDY HARD and BE A SUCCESS when they'll be told out of the other side of his mouth that "we'll redistribute your money"...do you not THINK? tsk
Oh, psi bond. You just sound so darned silly it's gettin' kinda fun..if it weren't so terribly sad.
I'm glad you changed your mind; I don't think it subverts your blog or America to allow other voices to be heard.
Z: Oh, psi bond. You just sound so darned silly it's gettin' kinda fun..if it weren't so terribly sad.
In my own view, it's so darned silly that you folks need to viciously politicize everything. Frank Luntz and liberal critics may be right: Only the crazies deny simple respect to the president we elect.
Let our children go.
"Frank Luntz and liberal critics may be right: Only the crazies deny simple respect to the president we elect."
LOL! So, did everyone on the left suddenly become miraculously sane after President Bush left office, 'cause we all know how respectful the left was of him.
President Bush was elected so please save your B.S. about respecting an elected president.
Perhaps you have been sleeping for the past 8+ years, but the Democratic Party has made its political fortune from encouraging the disrespect of our 43rd president.
Now that we have a president from the Democratic Party, its not enought to respect him, you cant disagree with him without being accused of being hateful or a racist.
This is nothing but Orwellian nonsense. The old battle cry "Dissent is Patriotic" has been dumped by the 'Democratic' Left quicker than Obama can push past associates under a bus...
Hi Brooke! I didnt think anyone was awake this time of the morning.
My previous comment was addressed to "PSI BLONDE"...
of course the Democrats have also ruined our children with disrespect for the past president.
In Los Angeles, elementary school children were encouraged to march against him. The indoctrination of the left is so chilling to our children that they'll never recover, but that's FINE for the leftwingers, isn't it. Machiavelli lives.
And, of course, this is the very first president who's frequently insulted the past president and VP....and calls by NAME conservative representatives who dare criticize this administration.
No respect at all from the Chicago elitist thugs who don't even KNOW better. I wish Bush would speak now but he feels it's not dignified to speak out on a new president's actions. Very sad that the country loses because Republicans are kinder and more civil.
Brooke: "Frank Luntz and liberal critics may be right: Only the crazies deny simple respect to the president we elect."
LOL! So, did everyone on the left suddenly become miraculously sane after President Bush left office, 'cause we all know how respectful the left was of him.
I think most liberals saw a difference between Bush’s policies and the office he held. I did.
LOL It was, I believe, Jesus who said, “Do unto Democratic presidents as you would want done unto Republican ones.”
Freedomnow: President Bush was elected so please save your B.S. about respecting an elected presiden.
There is some honest disagreement concerning whether the people elected Bush or he was selected by the Supreme Court in 2000.
It seems you don’t believe in doing unto the president from the other guy’s party as you would want done unto the president from your own party.
Perhaps you have been sleeping for the past 8+ years, but the Democratic Party has made its political fortune from encouraging the disrespect of our 43rd president.
It seems you have been out propagandizing during that same period, because, in my view, Democrats have been criticizing Bush’s disastrous policies, as have many Republicans..
Now that we have a president from the Democratic Party, its not enought to respect him, you cant disagree with him without being accused of being hateful or a racist.
Although I have been accused of it here, I have not accused you or anyone here of being racist. Accusing someone of calling you a racist is known as pulling the race card.
It may be considered hateful to refuse the man simple respect. Conflating disagreement with disrespect is very Orwellian.
This is nothing but Orwellian nonsense. The old battle cry "Dissent is Patriotic" has been dumped by the 'Democratic' Left quicker than Obama can push past associates under a bus...
Indeed, dissent is patriotic, but strident disrespect of elected leaders is not, Freedomnow. The logic is not so hard: If you think Bush should have been respected for being the president, then, by logic, you should agree that Obama ought to be respected for being the president, whatever reservations you have about him. You can denounce him for what he does, but you shouldn’t refuse him the same rights as Republican presidents.
Freedomsow: My previous comment was addressed to "PSI BLONDE"...
What sort of poster names himself after a poster? Eh, Freedomcow?
Z: of course the Democrats have also ruined our children with disrespect for the past president. In Los Angeles, elementary school children were encouraged to march against him. The indoctrination of the left is so chilling to our children that they'll never recover, but that's FINE for the leftwingers, isn't it. Machiavelli lives.
of course you would mischaracterize a demonstration that got you riled up as disrespect for the Republican president past. It was almost certainly, if indeed thus was a chidren's crusade, as you want ot pretend, a march for a cause, an issue, not a “march against him.” Orwell lives. He guideth you to once green pastures.
oh, you may never recover, Z, but I think the children will become more politically aware. Encouraging engagement with important issues is all to the good in this country, in my humble view.
when Reagan spoke to a bunch of school kids in 1988 in the White House. he sold his conservative view of the country and reaganomics. As Glenn Beck, in tearing into Obama, has griped, “Get ‘em while they’re young.”
And, of course, this is the very first president who's frequently insulted the past president and VP....and calls by NAME conservative representatives who dare criticize this administration.
of course you give a pass to the harsh criticism from the former VP Dick Cheney. I think Obama has a policy disagreement with Bush. He didn’t make ad hominem remarks. I didn’t know you liked Bush so much, Z.
No respect at all from the Chicago elitist thugs who don't even KNOW better. I wish Bush would speak now but he feels it's not dignified to speak out on a new president's actions. Very sad that the country loses because Republicans are kinder and more civil.
not satisfied with Cheney’s griping? He criticizes the present president on his policies as well as the former president on his failure to pardon Libby for perjury. However, you should recognize there is distinction between criticism and plain disrespect, unless you're a devout Orwellian.
Monica Crowley on Fox equated Obama with Chairman Mao. Another Republican equated him with Kim Jong Il. Michelle Malkin claimed Obama is turning the children into “guinea pigs.” Others scream indoctrination. Glenn Beck declared that Obama was a racist who had “a deep-seated hatred of white people.” Kinder and more civil? Ya, that would be the judgment I'd expect to hear from you, Z. Very sad. If they were nicer, they would say instead that our president is a thug, or a Chicago thug, or a fascist. But that’s right: They often DO say that.
Joe Scarborough, congressman from the Republicans' Class of 94, Florida conservative, now host of "Morning Joe" on MSNBC, speaks the truth to the crazies -- and their enablers.
"Where are the national GOP leaders speaking out against this kind of hysteria?" Scarborough asked Friday in a Twitter entry.
And, bolstering his point two minutes later:
"Indoctrination of socialism? The president as a racist? Death panels? Seriously? That's all you've got. If so, it's time for you to go home."
It should be said that asking students too young to have their own opinions about war, for example, to walk against a war they really know only their teachers' opinions about , against the president,is marching against a president. Yes, that's what it is.
Gibbs represents his boss; Gibbs' remark was along the lines of "Well, you can't put any stock in anything Cheney's said in the last 8 years...heh heh" That's undignified and thuggish; it's WE WON - PAY BACK TIME NOOOOWWWW!! and that's not the way the WH has been run in the past.
I don't admire Scarborough too much but he's even wronger than usual on that last paragraph, of course.
Z: It should be said that asking students too young to have their own opinions about war, for example, to walk against a war they really know only their teachers' opinions about , against the president,is marching against a president. Yes, that's what it is.
Strong partisan rhetoric aside(that is what it is, what you want to say), marching against the war policy of a president is marching about a particular issue, not marching against the person of the president or showing personal disrespect to him.
I don’t think we should ever tell children they are too young to have opinions.
I think it was a joke, and clearly presented as such. It was an understandable response to Cheney saying. “And now, he is making some choices that in my mind will, in fact, raise the risk to the American people of another attack.”
I don’t think Glenn Beck was joking when he said the president has a deep-seated hatred of white people and is a racist. Even if what Gibbs is not intended as a joke, it doesn’t justify what Beck said. Nor is it as mean-spirited as Beck’s remark.
I don't admire Scarborough too much but he's even wronger than usual on that last paragraph, of course.
Of course, far rightwingers are not going to be fond of Joe Scarborough or happy about what he says.
